This coarse is in the foot hills of the Niagara escarpment. Very challenging with it’s undulating fair ways and quick breaking greens.
Giant mixture of holes
A par 70 relatively short course with also some very long holes. A 250 yard par 3 and a 460 uphill par 4. A lot of elevation changes making it a challenge to walk. Greens in great shape.
Should be embarrassed!
Second time I’ve played there this year. Will not go back. Bunkers are unplayable, spray painted under repair. Tee box’s are very poor. There is no food or drinks available. I played intend of May, and was told start of June they will be fully operational. Went June 6th, and a complete ghost town. First time was $70 to ride, would never pay that again. Second time got it for $39 to walk (hot deal) I would argue that’s over paying. For a city course this shouldn’t be an issue. It’s June, get it rolling. It used to be a very nice course for the price. Very disappointing!
For $22 with walking not bad
2:40pm tee off time. Pace of play was slow due to two guys thinking they were on the PGA Tour. Grass in long so hard to find balls if shots aren't in the fairway. Some real short par 4's. Greens in good condition. Most of tee boxes too.
Very unhelpful staff (pro shop staff excluded).
Pro shop staff were very polite and helpful.
The “starter” was smoking a cigar on the first tee and asked my to remove my carry bag from the tee deck or I’d be removed from the golf course as it would “cause damage”. Course had 2 marshals out and they were smoking behind 2 tee the first time we went by.
By the 3rd tee and very shot afterwards a 4-some in 2 carts made us wait on every singe shot and would not let us play through. Eventually a marshal came up and we thought he’d address the pace of play but instead offered us “cheap golf balls or discounted beer”.
By the time we got to 7, the other marshal on 2 tee was still sitting in his cart and we asked if he could approach the 4 men in front of our 2-ball to see if he could ask them to let us play through. His response “I don’t get paid enough to argue with people or tell them what to do.”
While playing the the back 9, the starter was jumping in between groups in his cart and playing golf. Holding up groups and practicing all over the course.
By 13 we had been out there for 3.5 hours. Played 14 and 15 then walked off the course due to darkness.
Good value
Course was very good. Long and challenging. Lots of grass clippings though. Club house is very old and outdated. Would definitely play it again
