Love the course!
Very nice course @ a great value! Highly recommend.
Pre Season
Early on in the season. Greens were aerated, scruffy, very slow. Luckily price is right, good value. Slow pace, cold windy weather. Will get better as the season starts
Early start
Course wasn't too bad considering it is early in the season. Only 15 holes are open due to bad drainage on holes 4, 5 and 6. Locals know this as a regular thing at the beginning of the season and after a heavy rain. Nice in the summer and fall here. Short course but you need to know how to put the ball in the right spots or your day will be rough. A good short game pays dividends here.
Rockway Golf Course
This course is in the middle of Kitchener with easy access and near to where I work. Great to have a game after work.
The course has beautiful mature trees.
Good course and well kept.
Something old is new again
Course was a beautiful walk highly recommend you walk the course.
Pleasing to your eye. Fairways & greens in excellent condition, we look forward to playing again.
Head for Rockway
Rockway in Kitchener was in the best condition of any course I have played this season. The greens were immaculate, the fairways were like playing off carpet and the bunkers were in great shape.
Although not long (5500), strategically placed bunkers, frequent elevation changes and Scneider Creek meandering through the course demanded attention.Walking Rockway presents a challenge for super seniors. The magnificent clubhouse built in 1935 provided a stunning backdrop for a number of holes.
Therefore, if you get a chance head for Rockway.
Beautiful trees
Very pretty mature public course. Trees and conditions were great. Not a very long course but a bit tricky. Pace is quite slow on weekends.
A great day
The course had dry areas, but there's been.a lot of hot windy days lately so that's to be expected. I have played in some horribly maintained bunkers over the last couple of years, and the bunkers here were comparatively very good. The staff and Marshalls were great, including a super fast response bringing a cart out to replace one that broke down on a hole at the opposite end of the course from the clubhouse. Any staff we talked to were very polite.
While the course is short, there are some challenging tee shots and well protected greens. As well as a lot of strategic shot choices.
The pace of play was good for our round considering how busy the course was. But I can see definitely how there could be pace of play issues though due to the layout (a lot of short par 4's) on busy days.
