Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Ontario (2014 #2)
Reviews
Super Cottage course.
I was amazed with the quality of this course. My 19 year old son was also impressed . If you are up in this area it is a good track to check out.
Terrific course
Very well maintained course. Condition are lush. Layout and hole design are good. Only quirky hole is #17.
I've played it three times, and will return again.
Good value
If you use Golfnow.com and get a deal on a tee time then this course is worth every penny. We paid $18.99 for 18 holes last time and $22.00 for yesterday's round.
Six Foot Bay, Buckhorn
Such a great course. Hidden gem. Groomed to perfection and gettingbetter all the time for views, greens and difficulty.
Review six foot bay
Played in a little over 3 hrs. He course was in very good shape . Play there every year when on vacation.
Nice course, management awful
Let me start off by saying this course is extremely nice, and it is a challenge to play. I sincerely enjoyed my time on the actual course.
However when it came to my 'clubhouse' experience I was sincerely blown away - and not in a good way. The way the upper management treated the female staff inside the proshop/restaurant was in my opinion despicable. I was witness to the owner berating a member of the staff, asking her if she was stupid, why she would do something like she did and that if she did not smarten up there were plenty of people willing to take her place. This made me uncomfortable because the whole restaurant could hear the conversation. I talked to the female staff member and she said that sort of conduct was regular and that wasn't even the worst. Nobody should be treated the way I saw that girl treated and because of that my group, who have been travelling to the resort for years will not be returning.
we had a great tjme playing with friends on our anniversary
We booked through golf now and got a great discount. We ate dinner afterwards and the chef came out to greet us and make sure our dinner was done to perfection. And it was. We has a great day.
Weekend getaway by the bay
Had a good time, didn't play too well but not the courses fault. Recommend this place, very good value
Nice course but overpriced for area
Too expensive for area. Golf carts not included with golf now fee
6 FT Bay just keeps getting better
I have played 6fb since the days of the gravel cart paths and it was a really nice and challenging course. I had not been there in a few years. Discovered a lot of pleasent changes from the bea utiful fairways to the ecellent greens. Just a gorgeous course to play. Worthy of the Canadian Open, maybe? ;-)
Cheers
Marty
Beautiful course with challenge from tips
The course is quite scenic and offers a good deal of challenge from the back tees.
Nice Gem in Buckhorn
Six Foot Bay is a fun course to play. Have not played this course in over 15 years. It sure has matured nicely. Owners have invested wisely in the changes they have made.
Greens held the ball and fairways were in good shape.
Will definitely be back.
Still a gem of a course
Six Foot Bay always gives you excellent value for the money. A challenging but fair track, it tests all aspects of your game. In my opinion, Six Foot Bay is still the best public course in the Kawarthas. If you have never played it, then put it on your Must Play list. Attention to details on the course is exceptional. It's too bad more golfers don't fix their ball marks on the greens and their divots in the fairways. If you are good enough to make them, then you are good enough to fix them.
Beautiful Setting
Very scenic setting
I am a beginner and we only played nine holes but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not so difficult that you were frustrated.
It was early in the season but the course was in pretty good shape.
course well maintained; scenic; nasty water holes
challenging but fun; be prepared to lose a few balls in the water
? early part of course couldn't tell fairway from ? rough grass
Great place to golf!!!!
One of the top courses in Ontario. I would recommend this course to anyone who likes a challenge.
Great landscaping & bar, hockey, sports etc.
It was a good experience. However, the 2nd time we went... the pace was slower!!! A foursome, 2 holes ahead, were very slow! People behind us had to jump ahead. We were told "no marshals to speed things up" I will return however. Autumn golf here is outstanding.
nicely layed out. great scenery
one of the best courses i'v ever played. excellent shape and playable.
Great day as always at Six Foot Bay
Great Course and in excellent condition. Always something new at Six Foot Bay and always picturesque.
