Reviews
Course was fantastic great shape had a blast!!!!
This course was fantastic. Day was great staff super friendly and easy to look at. Every hole is different and the conditions are prestige. Did not have anyone playing behind us ever or never got stuck behind groups. Highly recommended
Great Round
6 foot bay has become one of my favourite courses in the area. Great layout and well maintained. Practice facility would be a nice addition
Nice layout and condition.
Disappointed with "no rain check" policy including power cart, even when greens and tees become unplayable due to winds, storms, trees down, etc.
Decent Course, Terrible Staff
Average front nine, nicer back.
Played in a threesome on Sunday. Teed off at 12:48.
We were playing behind a sixsome, playing a two ball scramble! No Ranger appeared. After two hours we skipped the 8th hole to get past the group. Never did see a ranger the entire day. We went into the proshop at the conclusion of the round however no one "in charge" was there so we left our number.
Just got a call from Gary who said he and another were on the course all day. Implied I was making up the story because "you want me to give you something."
An apology might have been nice.
The woman at the halfway house was very nice however the proshop staff and Gary were at best unfriendly.
I'll never go back.
Nicely laid out and maintained staff friendly, course in good shape.
Overall real good golf course....lots of nice holes , greens role real nice and condition is very good.. 17 and 18 to quote a guest of mine are 2 of the worst finishing holes around...Need to address this somehow ....Overall enjoyable day !
By Far It's the Most Beautiful Course in the Kawarthas
I've played here many times and it's always been a pleasure. The course has a challenging yet sensible layout and the greens and fairways are always in pristine condition. The beauty of this course is that it's seemingly carved into a forest of a million white pines, it's really something else. The flower beds, ponds and armor stone throughout the course is laid out perfectly. I'd challenge anyone to name a better looking course than six foot.
Nicely landscaped
This is one of my favorite courses in the Kawarthas, not only is it challenging but it has alot of pretty flower beds, fountains, wood and stone bridges, and log rest areas at alot of the tee decks.
A "Must Play"
An excellent layout complemented by extensive flower gardens throughout. Many landscaping features unique to this course. Challenging holes with a premium on accuracy from the tee. The par 3s and 5s are exceptional. The best of golf and gardens makes this track a must play.
Great Course
I love this course. Fairly challenging as the fairways are quite narrow. Greens were in amazing condition.
Good course with an attitute problems
This was my second visit to this course. Unlike the first, staff at work was very friendly and courteous.
My first visit was booked by my playing partner and I chose to ride the power cart.
When I asked about their rain check policy, they will only give me the power cart portion since they don't have anything to do with the green fees paid to the Golf now.com which gave me some sour taste and impression I got was't very pleasant.
The reason why I went right back was I didn't want to hold on a half of the cart rain check too long.
If they don't like giving the tee time slot to the Golf Channel they should't be the part of system.
This is a excellent golf course, worth every penny.
Six Foot Bay in Buckhorn is an excellent parkland style golf course. The owner has added personal touches all over the course such as sun and rain shelters on every tee, flowers planted throughout the course, and all bridges are a different style such as a stone arch bridge, wooden covered bridge ,and a rope bridge. This is an excellent layout which requires golfers to use all the clubs in the bag. It is always in good condition. Lots of trees, water and challenges. It is great value for the money and a course that should be on your yearly must play schedule.
Both challenging and picturesque
This is one of my favourite couses in the north Peterborough area. The third hole is a par 4 dogleg with a pond right on the front edge of the green. You may par it, or easily get a seven. The 12th hole is a par five double dogleg with ponds on front edge and left edge of green - my favourite. My wife who hits her tee shots about 150 yards complains that even with a good drive she often does not hit the short grass off the tee. Tough, frustrating course for short hitters.
This course has a beautiful setting
The fairways are lush and green, greens are well kept, bunkers are .filled with beautiful white sand. A few holes are a bit of a walk from green to next tee, but the nice woodsy setting with hundreds of mature trees makes it enjoyable throughout. There are also many nicely kept flowerbeds - overall a very picturesque setting - very enjoyable.
Excellent course in great shape
Played here all summer - excellent course in great condition. Staff are cheerful and very helpful. I left my credit card at the pro shop - the cashier ran after me and handed the card back to me on the first tee.
bang for your buck
This is a great course, requiring you to keep the ball in the fairway. Front nine is solid, but the back is the real challenge requiring some great shots. I play here a few times a year and the course is always fairly well maintained. The speacial walking rates for tee times in the early to mid afternoon can have you walking the course for anywhere between 17 and 35 bucks tax incl. which is a steal for a course of this quality and difficulty.
Great price and for this time of year, course was in great condition.
Holes 16 & 17 were a bit shall I say "Mickey Mouse", in the design but overall SixFoot Bay Resort is a little gem in the Kawarthas.
ok
course is ok except they allow large groups to play together. eg; 7 and 8 people per group. very slow play.
