Areal Jewel nestled in the Woods of Azle
This is a great course....well maintained a a great challenge with many elevated tees and just overall great layout. If you are looking for a challenge then you found it. Affordable the layout will challenge your tee shot on almost every hole.
Great course for the value
Well maintained fairways and greens, beautiful scenery and fun layout.
very good course
good course for average golfer, challenging but not too difficult. Course was in very good condition
Fairways, Tee Boxes, and Greens were excellent
We have been to some golf courses this summer with barren fairways and tee boxes bc of drought conditions in Texas. But Cross Timbers has a lot of water and keeps the course in excellent condition. We had a great time. Nobody pushing and we didn't have to wait on anyone. We teed off about 20 minutes early too. Deal was fantastic.
Cross Timbers, nice course, good value.
Saturday afternoon 3 some on a hot deal for $13/player. No issues at course using GolfNow, course had my reservation, no issues at check in. We teed off at 1:24, there were a few groups in front of us on the 1st tee box so we decided to tee off on 10. Coures was in good condition, fairways were decent, greens rolled true and held shots will minimal roll. I've played this course a few times over the past few years and always enjoy it. Course has a good mix of easy and difficult holes with water and sand coming into play on numerous holes.
Greens were in excellent shape and form, giving up pars and birdies from a good read and stroke.
In spite of a good soaking all night and most of the morning fairways held firm with some roll and greens were relatively dry and fast. The course was in good shape except for divots in the fairway that were not filled, since the sand receptacles in the carts were empty, so I got alot of practice in hitting out of divots. As afternoon temp rose so did the humidity that made the back nine a steam cabinet. But for the price and opportunity it was still worth the effort and drive to Azle.
Course is in great shape right now.
Fairways and greens are in great shape. Greens are rolling perfectly. A few wet areas in front of most greens but not a problem.
Fun
Very good fairways lots of roll. Greens are hard and fast hard to stop ball on the green. All and all very nice.
MEMORABLE -18- in Hot Texas !
CONSIDERING the August heat and lack of local RAIN....
Course in great condition and worth every dollar in Greens Fees.
Place this one on YOUR BUCKET LIST if you are near
Fort Worth, Texas.
You will love the last FOUR FINISHING holes and more !
Great holes , great greens
Love the greens , fun course to play, we'll worth the money
Sub 3hour pace. Hidden gem.
I have been playing this course regularly for about 3 years and every year the course has improved. No better value for your golfing dollar in the metroplex.
Enjoyable to play.
Fairways, greens and bunkers were all in good shape. Scenery was a mixture of pleasant landscape and rugged terrain. Lots of shady trees to sit under while waiting to hit. I'll definitely be back.
very enjoyable kick back course
Helpful friendly staff on an old school course.Enjoyed the terrain,up and down hills with club decision and fast greens.
This is a challenging Course
This is a good course but it is over booked on the weekend's and they allow 5 and 6 players in a group and this make for very slow play
Nice course
This was a great day of golf. It was a little slower than usual only due to the rain we had the night prior causing it to be a Cart Path only.
Definitely recommend the drive!
Best condition ever!
Greens are almost always great at this course but the fairways and tee boxes can patchy and dry in the past. NOT NOW - fiarways best I have seen them in many years and among some of best in FTW area currently.
Great bang for your buck
Course was in good shape from tee to green. Challenging yet not too bad for a beginner. A great golf experience while not killing your wallet. The staff was friendly, and made my son and I feel very welcome.
Played on a Sunday
The grass is starting to come up, I would play again because the greens are pretty good. I enjoyed the Champion Bermuda greens, they held well as long as you hit a solid approach shot. Around the greens you have to clip your pitch or chip in order to make your ball spin and stop. Challenging holes for the longer hitter, fairways tighten at the 300 yard mark off the tee, it made me take more irons off the tee shot. Really enjoyed the green speed and true roll of the greens for a public course. I am used to playing on green's at Great Southwest, they are really true and fast at GSW. The greens at Cross Timbers were really good for public golf course. Will play again.
A challenging yet fun course for all skill levels
The staff was great and the course was in good shape for March. Fairways are greening up and the greens were in great shape.
See statement below.
This course is a great one. If you need a challenge come play this one. But don't cry afterwards, appreciate the surroundings and layout.
