Eagles Nest
Decided to gather a group of my friends to play on my birthday. Wish Golfnow had some sort of indication that one of the holes on the course was under repair. This should have been explicit as the large majority of us didn't expect to be missing out on a hole and having to play on a makeshift hole with carpet as a green. I know the course is pretty fantastic at its peak, but was really disappointed that we weren't warned about the hole being repaired beforehand unless I missed something.
Low value for money
With the golfnow site I paid $660CAD for our round with carts. Was looking forward to it as it had a great reputation. The clubhouse and view of the clubhouse is the only thing I can rave about. The tee boxes and putting areas had tons of ant holes and goose droppings. I guess they could say it was because of covid and no maintenance but there were a ton of staff sitting around idly near the clubhouse. The noise from nearby highways was brutal and you see commercial buildings (McDonalds, Rona) from about 15 of the holes. Feels like a course in the middle of the city. Can’t say much in the way of positive feedback. Though a wedding there may be nice…?
Great coarse, one of the holes are being worked and another Par 5 split up to make up the one that’s being worked on.. I’m so coming back to see what they have done to the holes
Damsel In Distress
Clearly a beautiful course but not maintained well + a surprise 4th hole closure.
4th hole is ‘closed’ and they’ve turned a par 5 on the back 9 into two holes (a par 3 and par 4). I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere when booking. If you’re paying $50 for a round sure no biggie, but if you’re spending $205 a person it’s pretty frustrating to figure that out on the first tee box.
Was exited to play here but overall, pretty lacklustre. There’s so many beautiful courses in the $90-$110 range- not sure why anyone would pay an additional $100 to play here.
Paid full price while Holes under construction
4th hole is under construction but course forgets to tell you that. A par 5 was turned into 2 holes to make up 18 holes;200 yd par 3 and a short par 4.
Pace of play was slow - 5hrs. No marshal. Bunkers were not maintained and some of them were just a mess.
I used to love this course but this was a very disappointing round. I threw the scorecard away since it wasn’t even a full 18.
$144 is too much for this place
Eagles Nest
It was cold and rainy, ended up playing just 9holes. The course was in excellent shape and all staff was very friendly and professional. I can't wait to go back to play the whole 18hpoles next season!
Simply the best
Like the title says, you won’t find a nicer course in the area, public or semi private.
After playing 2 or three holes my group decided this would be the annual “end of golf season” course we play.
