Best course in Canada?
Played here on my Toronto golf trip and wow. With all the recent rain I guess the course was just pure green. The greens where a little slow but just a crazy good course. The range was great and I thought it was cool being a Nike golf course.
The course itself was amazing and what a special back nine. I learned the design passed away before seeing the finished project but man what a Course he designed.
Afterwards we went to grab a steak in the clubhouse which was great and what a cool clubhouse best seen on the par 5 ninth. Overall incredible day and best course in my Canada trip.
Great course and decent golf round :)
Always a pleasure to play at Angus Glen. Friendly staff and great pace of play. Finished in less than 4 hours. I wish the weather had not gotten colder just today. Else perfect!
Interesting and challenging but lots of choice of tee boxes
I took my spouse (a senior) to play this course. I thought that she would find it too tough but no. From the red tee boxes she did just fine. I have played it before and I love the links style and the layout. My only complaint. We carted the course and about a hundred yards out we could go no further in the cart. No problem until the cart started warning us about pace of play. %0 yards out or so would not affect the fairways. You can't have it both ways. Pace of play or reasonable cart rules. Never saw a marshall!!
Poor course conditions
Definitely not worth $175 for a round. Far better courses in the north/east GTA at a lower price point.
Great course nice layout friendly staff would come back.
6 Hour Round - No Marshall
Brutal pace of play - backed up from the 2nd tee onward. 9:30am on a Friday morning. Conditions aren't great - course is looking a little beat up from what I imagine is a high volume of corporate events. Landscaping leaves something to be desired.
Clublink regular
Have not played AG for years but found it in great condition and with amenities. Great to have variety for the GTA market..
Lacking maintenance.
Entire property feels dated and run down.
ie.
pot holes and cracks in driveway entrance
Main building / Pro shop feels really dated and not maintained.
The north track was decent with the fairways and greens but the bunkers were poor with overgrowth creeping in. The sand was only a half inch deep in some areas.
Lastly. The driving range want ideal with turf only. No grass decks? We also only got one code to get our bucket of range balls.
The entire experience just felt very low budget but the fees were premium.
Golf trip
I truly enjoyed the North course with exception of the following things:
- greens were air-rated and we were not told prior to round
- group in front of us were seniors who played from the wrong tee blocks (played white and should have played red) as they could not carry any of the landing areas
- front nine tee blocks were really hacked up
- the back nine was amazing and loved the course because of that
- the beer cart staff on the course were fantastic and extremely friendly
- overall I would rate the course as 3.5 but would come back to plate the south course if able
