Lost Pines Bastrop State Park

I found it refreshing to play a shorter course. Lost Pines has cool holes and a quick pace of play even when busy. The fairways are pretty hard during the Texas drought.

Fun course

Layout was interesting on the back nine. Greens and tees were in pretty decent condition. Course needs some rain. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming.

Back nine was great

the front nine I need of work as well as the sand traps. now the back nine with the right work would be an awesome design. very deceptive in length which made for a challenging back side.

My Duffer Opinion

I am a 100+ golfer who plays an EASY municipal course so MOST courses are a step up for me. But this state park course... only paying $8 for 18 holes.... Best deal I have seen EVER had.

Fun course

Lost pines turns out to be a lot more fun than the first couple hole would have you believe. For the price you can't beat it. The greens were not in very good shape. When I first started playing I didn't expect the course to be as challenging as it was. It def builds into a better course each hole. Overall a fun course plus the gas golf carts are funner to drive than electric. Lost pines is a bit of a rustic style course don't go expecting a luxurious snack bar or clubhouse. Pretty bare bones in that department. If the course conditions were managed better Coupled with the degree of challenge this course could be rated much higher!!

Hope springs eternal.

Good course for beginners and kids. It is sad to see the areas that were devastated by the fires. Greens ok, but fairways need watering. Some challenging holes. We knew it was not going to be pristine, but we wanted to come out anyway and play to generate some revenue and keep the place open for future golfers. Come out and buy some hats, refreshments and golf balls. Staff was super-friendly. Will be back again.

Really fun course to play

I have been playing this course for years and I still enjoy it very much. The course is in pretty rough condition right now but its looking better and better. I can always count on a good challenge when I play at Lost Pines.

Lost pines

A bit hard to navigate the dull front nine. On the other hand, I loved the back nine! Overall good green and fairway conditions and awesome staff friendliness!

Great course for the money

Staff is really nice. Course is an old 9 hole converted to 18 a few years ago. Greens are OK but far from great. Connects to Bastrop state park--beautiful course -- even after the big fires of two years ago. Give it a try--great course for the small green fees.

wet golf

Played before, during, and after rain. Course was challenging for beginner like me. Greens were rough and recently sanded. Hard to navigate with a map of course layout. Staff was friendly and offered advise. Great value for the money. Would look elsewhere for this course was in not idea conditions. Great value for experience nun the less.

Playing in the park

This course is nestled in a park. Once had beautiful pine trees but the fire burnt them up. Golf Course seemed to be the break point. One side beautiful the other dead. fairways needed cutting, greens were bumpy and dead. Good place if you want to camp and play for fun. Not good for the avid golfer.
