Course is in good shape
Course is in good shape. They are working on the sand traps. Staff very good. Like playing here.
Course needs some work
Needs lots of work on all the bunkers, in rough shape
Awful course conditions
The course is in terrible shape. The greens were the only decent part of the course. I quit after 14 holes it was so awful. I should get a refund.
Well maintained and challenging course
Thoroughly enjoyed my first round at this course. Fairways and greens in excellent condition and layout very good. This is truly a shot placement course. Player must give serious consideration to t-shot on every hole. While we did not make use of the restaurant my impression was that it was of a high standard. The pro shop attendant was knowledgeable, polite, friendly and very helpful. All In all it is a course I will try to play whenever I am in the area again.
Great golf course & facility
Darryl (Clubhouse Manager) personally greeted us, first time playing Brooklea. Recently moved to the area. We really enjoyed the round at Brooklea, the course is challenging but fair. I enjoy a few narrow fairways to require a player to focus on a target.
Many beautiful tree lined holes, not all deciduous trees, many pines, so leaves in the fall not that big an issue. Friendly staff, enjoyable course conviced us to take a membership at Brooklea for 2018!
Pleasant Round
The course was in good shape and enjoyable to play. Good value for the price.
Staffing
It took us far too long to get on the course (i.e. 8:20 tee time, teeed off just before 9:00) due to one staff member in charge of checking everyone in and having to leave the clubhouse to find club rentals for other customers. The pace of play was also quite slow and I didn't see any marshals monitoring play.
Lack of maintenance
Played this course many years but will not be back until course back to being well maintained. To add to the conditions they had a cart girl with not one ice cube on her cart and I was told "no ice and everyone here is too busy to get any" do beer was warm
Disappointing
Flood in clubhouse....changed holes around (not for the better),sand traps not groomed, geese everywhere, waited on every hole...followed group of five...brutal. This course used to be a favourite....not anymore
Starter very unfriendly
We travelled from out of town and were 35 minutes early for our tee time. The starter made us wait , as there was another twosome booked before us who have not arrived. Course was wide open, so the only explanation, was he was not friendly. I explained we play very fast, and most likely would play through, but he told us to wait. When the twosome arrived, he said one was handicapped, so it "sort of make sense" we play first.. really.. you can tell this pained him. Brooklea needs to discuss Customer Service/Satisfaction with their Starters.......Other than that, the course was great, loved the layout changes made, pace just under 3 hours, and weather was great....
Golfing with my 2 sons
Very nice day. Pro shop staff were very friendly. Since we had a lot of rain, the course was in good shape. Not dry at all. Only issue was the sand traps. They are in the process of redoing all the sand traps. Due to the wet weather we could not play from any traps. Free lift. Course is under new management. I will p-lay this course again. Not overly long but you still have to make all your shots.
Rained out
Got 9 holes in before the rain. There had been heavy rain the day before and the sand traps were water hazards. Want to play the course again. Enjoyed the holes that we did play.
This course could be a lot nicer. The maintenance of the course needs a lot work. The sand traps are atrocious to be fair they are repairing them. The cart paths are very rough need to be graded. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great course!
Beautiful course and very well maintained. Some of the bunkers were rough, but we were told the course is under new management and they are slowly working on getting the bunkers restored. Saw lots of wildlife while playing. Lovely to see. Would definitely play there again!
