Course opened too early
Friendly staff, however the parts of the course were almost unplayable (ie. the bunkers). Carts were allowed on the front side but back nine simply too wet for carts.
Would not recommend this course until things dry up and the bunkers fixed.
Needs attention
The grounds need to be addressed. No reason that there are leaves all over most fairways. Difficult to find balls. Other than that great course. Real long and the tight fairways are a challenge
Bunkers not used.
Course very dry and informed on arrival that all bunkers were deemed GUR and a free lift.
Great course - love the front 9.
Wonderful course. GolfNow came through with an amazing green fee! Sand traps are rock hard - but I hear there is a new owner who might address this soon. Otherwise, I love this course - played it before and will play again!
good course with plenty of challenge
Lots of trouble if tee shots wander. Plenty of movement on the greens and very picturesque holes. Great value.
Average Course
Played this course on many occasions as I have a cottage near the area. I enjoy playing the front 9, some nice challenging holes. A really different layout than the back 9. The back 9 to me is very average at best and quite boring. Many holes look the same, straight, treelined, somewhat narrow. Not very scenic. The sand traps need lots of work as they are like concrete and filled with many rocks. I used my putter in a couple traps as the sand was so hard.
A very nice layout, with mature trees and plenty of shade.
Enjoyed a nice round of golf at Brooklea. The course itself was in very good condition however the bunkers were not in great shape with very little sand. My wife liked the thin flag sticks which were easier for her to handle.
Great price on Hot Deals
well taken care of course and skipped pass foursome walking on par 3 and moved very fast after that. Nice layout for all level of player.
Quite a challenge
Played this course today. Was ok but still many fallen tree branches ect due to the huge storm that past on Friday. But You can see through that and tell the course is normally quite nice. People were friendly. Rough was a bit long and caused some lost balls (Likely kept long currently due to hot dry weather recently) Front 9 is quite open style but the back 9 is treed and narrow. Accuracy is a must on the back. Great place to play if your looking for a challenge.
Only course I have ever walked off of
Never competed the round. No marshalls at all and the field was impossible to get through.
Fareways are worse than parkland.
Amazing Customer Service
Beautiful grounds, excellent customer service. The rough was pretty long which made the course a little more challenging.
Great Value for the Money
I happened to live right around the corner from this gem and play it quite frequenlty during the summer season! Compared to all the other courses in the area, I find Brooklea to have the best coniditions all around with all the amenities that I need to play an enjoyable round! The greens are mint, and being that I travel to alot of Muskoka courses for business, Brookleas greens are the best I have putted hands down! The Front is definately more varied then the back, but the back is testament to the ball striker and those with a touch of accuracy! Hands down the best value for the money in the area!
The Proshop staff was awesome and went above and beyond to accomodate me! Great Clubhouse with Freindly down to earth staff!
Over priced for what it is
The front nine and back nine are like two different courses. Layout shows obvious signs of being an original nine hole course with a second nine added many years later. Front nine is an interesting layout with many challenging holes. Back nine is basically a straight narrow tree lined layout that becomes very boring. Many tournaments at this facility so best to check tee times first.
Poor value
Played two days after a storm, back nine was branches and all kind of debris all over, bunkers were mudd traps. Very expensive for the conditions. Cannot recommend.
