Great value for money
Got a "hot deal" for this course and played for $13 per round. Played with a partner in just over 3 hours. Course is generally in good condition. Some spotty greens. Don't expect perfect greens and fairways. Staff friendly. Very walkable with some tight challenging holes. Nice rural setting.
greens are hurting
the course is in relatively good shape, bvut we could use some rain in general. a lot of the greens had dead spots on them, that needs to be fixed, takes away from the game. leo could use more food ready around noon, ran out of hot sausages.
Disappointed
Tee blocks were hard as a rock. Greens were not in good condition
needs work
first time playing this course. With some work it could be extremely nice, however, rates are low so I guess this is just a reflection of you get what you pay for!
Good short track for a fast game. Concern would be it would be too busy.
Course is an easy layout and short.
the fairways need weeding and thickening. Some need major leveling due to rolling mounts and holes.
Low areas need more drainage.
You can not Beat the Price !
Played 18 holes in 2 hours an 45 min for $ 9.00. How can you beat that price. Do not pay attention to the three first hole but after it gets interesting. Nothing spectacular but fair. Good green well protected but hard. It was very hard to hold the greens. Half of the greens had been top dressed. It is a target course. I had a good time practicing my approach. If you are not fussy about manicure well it worth it for the price but if you like pristine stay away. Golf is golf and you play against you and this little course will challenge you a bit. First time that I see a real phone booth on a golf course. Have fun. Good place to bring beginners and kids.
A frosty morning.
Only paid 10 bucks for 18 holes with a cart. How can anyone complain with that?
It is not your best golf course in the area. There was a 30 minute frost delay but they did everything they could.
Would play again for 10 bucks!
Best Value in Simcoe County
A great course for the average golfer. There may be no bells & whistles here, but the course is in very good shape with some challenging holes to offer an enjoyable round, ie the par 4 - 7th hole with it's narrow fairway & green tucked back in the woods, or the par 3 - 17th hole with it's green nestled in front of the pond. The staff are very friendly and offer a small town welcome. Fairways are fairly wide allowing for small mistakes off the tee.
The course offers very competitive rates, and overall it is great value for the money!
Needs work
Course was in terrible shape the day I played, the terrain is extremely uneven on the micro level and flat on the macro level, greens are shaggy, hard to tell rough from fairway. Don't waste your time or money...
fairways were like hitting off concrete
Decent course layout
didnt care for the back to back par threes but overall not bad. Course was so dry and dead patches on most green that added a hard putt to the hole. Fairways ground was so hard felt like hitting a ball off a concrete floor. Ohh and i forgot to mention we had three senior ladies in front with one of their grand daughters . To keep in short there was some serious grid-lock.
Hard to keep the ball on the greens because greens are mostly mushroom tops.
Riding the fairways in a cart was not unlike riding a horse; the undulations kept us bobbing up and down. The fairways are in decent shape, but the ground is quite hard in areas. At 7 AM on Tuesday there was no one in front of us, or behind us! Watch out for the ravens; they'll grab stuff (tobacco pouch in my case) right out of your cart.
Plays well, but in disrepair and feels ignored
Paid $35/person which GolfNow showed as being a 14% discount, and was informed when I arrived at the course that their regular price for a Monday is $35/person for 18 and a cart. So I paid the same but also paid the GolfNow fees!
Overall the course is well laid out and easy to play. The cart paths are terrible and have not been maintained. The greens are mostly brown and lots of them have large bare spots, with previous hole plugs sticking up. The tee boxes leave much to be desired, there was no beer cart for the 4 hours we were there. The signage is terrible, it was difficult to even find hole #1! It's an easy course to play and if you don't care about the quality of play then it's right up your alley, but with the number of courses near Barrie in such a small area, there are many nicer courses to play for the same money.
I would return but not for more than $20/round. It just feels as though the course has been ignored for years.
Nice layout and green in good condition
Maybe due to extremely hot temperature, course is dry and fairway were hard.
Green a little slow for my liking.
Overall a course that I will play again.
Very good and challenging greens.
This was the second time, this yea, that I played this course. I really enjoyed the course. It's in good condition but I especially enjoyed the tough greens.
Beautiful scenery & forgiving fairways
I loved the layout of the course, the fairways were generously wide and in good condition with hazards being challenging but not cumbersome. The greens were a little rough on a few holes but the rest were excellent and offered a lot of variety in size and difficulty. We teed off at around 715 and never felt pressured or experienced delays. Finally broke 95 and it couldn't have been on a nicer course.
nice mix of length and skill
loved the course, well kept, good length of holes nice mix of par threes , fours, and fives.
You Can Enjoy
It is good
I enjoyed
Clean field
I will go again
Good price
not the best course i have played at
This course suffers from poor drainage. Not a course for cart people, better suited to hand pulled carts. I wound up walking almost as far as someone pulling a cart.
Variety of green play
This course had some challenging greens fun to play only down fall I experienced was the tractor operators not pulling off to the side when I'm ready to tee off!! I did mention it to front desk so if you are going to book here ask if they are cutting the grass that day!!!!
