Course in great shape, play moved right along.
Conditions were excellent and staff was friendly and helpful. I saw rangers inconspicuously moving around the course as we played but fortunately didn’t need their assistance to move play along. Course itself is very similar to Florida courses: some water, lots of traps, large aprons whereby you have a choice as to whether to putt or chip within 10 yards of the green. Challenging without being overwhelming. Liked the white/green tee option.
Great Day
Always enjoy playing this golf course especially the 9th and 18th. The course is in excellent condition and staff are very friendly and efficient. The food options in the clubhouse are also very good. Can’t wait to go back!
Marshalling
This is a great course if you want to wait 5 minutes for every shot. Pace of play is the worst in the peninsula. The marshals make up ridiculous excuses for having to wait on every hole for the group ahead to finish the hole. I have never been so frustrated playing a round of golf, as I have when playing the Parks courses. If you're out to just drink and mess around, these are the courses for you. If you are a serious golfer then stay away.
Twilight Rate
Course was not busy which helped pace of play. Hot deal from Golfnow allowed playing at this course. Should considering offering this kind of rates more often, especially during twilight when course is not busy.
Battlefield course
We played on July 4th. Course was very wet, if not soggy. Cart path only made for a 5 hour round. It’s one of those things. The layout was good with some risk reward choices off the tee decks making it interesting. The 18th was a monster par 5 with so many bunkers, twists in direction and water, it made my head dizzy.
My only complaint was the staff. Felt like I always had to ask questions ie, like where exactly do I get a cart. They are apparently near a building beside the pro shop, like I’m supposed to know that somehow playing it the first time. Got a seemingly upset guy where the carts were when my partner asked for a scorecard. They had scorecards for Uushers but not Battlefield. I don’t understand the logic there as that’s where you get the carts no matter which course you play on. We asked he same guy for spare tees. In both requests ,it was go ask the starter behind the building near the first tee, even though they had an empty box there that was there to hold tees. A little thing, but not exactly a welcoming attitude. The guy just sounded upset that we would ask for a scorecard and tees. Notwithstanding, I would play the course again. It’s a good layout, well maintained, fast greens. Would like to play it again in drier conditions.
1st Class Experience
We were only playing one round in the Niagara area and man did I make the right choice. Battlefield is a stunning golf course in perfect shape. The greens are perfect, smooth and fast with many breaking putts. If I'm ever near by again I wouldn't hesitate to return
Battlefield - June 2023
Challenging course, but a little more forgiving than Ussher's Creek. Great layout with good variety of holes. Prices have gone up as they have everywhere in Ontario. Extremely busy tee sheets, so expect to be paired up as this hasn't always been the case in the past. A great 1-2 punch with Ussher's Creek for a stellar 36-hole day.
