Challenging No. 3 hole at Whirlppol Photo submitted by Stevensiu on 04/03/2013
Great day
Excellent layout. Great value. Spectacular setting. Really good conditions.
A memorable layout
As a public facility, this is a top notch course to play. It is an historic Stanley Thompson design and has held up remarkably well. There are two par threes that by themselves are well worth the visit (one on each side). It is great value for the money.
Good Course
Enjoyed the company of locals. The course is very nice and tough. Very windy the day I played. Greens were good with lots of ball marks not repaired. Rangers and cart guys were great.

Been playing here for 40 years, first time since covid. Absolutely perfect. Awesome conditions. Greens were perfect. Wonderful day.
Good and bad
Pace of play was absolutely terrible. We saw groups of 6 and 8. Sometimes as much as 3 groups waiting on the same tee box. We quit after 10 because we were already 3 hours into the round.
The course itself is nice. Pretty good condition. Good layout (at least holes 1 to 10). Clubhouse is nice. The staff is great.
Booking is a pain!
It would be much preferred if the course handled its own bookings. Booking through Golf Now is a pain.
Good course - terrible drainage
I've played this course multiple times throughout the past couple years and while it's a nice course and challenging, the drainage is terrible. We barely got any rain the past few days and the fairways were soaked with puddles. You get no rollout from drives at all.
Other than that, the course is nice and challenging.
Pleasant course
Fairways were very well conditioned, rough was not long but sticky. Course is long from regular tees, a little too short from next tees up. Pretty but not a lot of variety in the holes. No restaurant this year really disappointing.
Nice Public Course
This course is in a lovely setting and is in great shape. It is neither particularly long nor difficult, with wide, generally straight fairways. The greens are fairly fast, although not as fast as the best courses. All-in-all an enjoyable round, although the day was brutally hot!
