Oaklands Golf Club boasts a versatile layout that is gentle enough for beginners while still offering a fair amount of challenge for more advanced golfers. The fairways are mostly narrow and water comes into play on a few holes. The signature hole is the par-3 11th, which requires a skillful shot through a narrow opening with trees along the left side and a steep grade to the right. The severely sloped green is surrounded by trees and protected by a tricky sand trap. The most difficult hole on the course though, is the par-3 second. This hole has an elevated tee with an out-of-bounds to the right and a sand bunker that guards most of the front portion of the small, raised green, which is also lined with trees on both sides.

Oaklands could spend some $ on new clear out the rough from near the greens , it would assist pace of play.
These golf carts have exceeded their life span, either get new seats and new straps or spend some capital on new carts. Course well maintained, could clean up more rough near greens and this would pick up pace of play which is way too slow. Too many people looking for off course balls in dense rough. Always a tough pin on number 11, good value today from Golf Now!
Poor fairways
Fairways dry and rough. Beverage cart service terrible. The young lady was hard to find. On 16 th she arrived after we waived her down. She seemed annoyed. At 130 pm as we left she was in clubhouse on sofa eating a burger. Meantime the course was full of players on a very hot afternoon. The customers were not properly served. I won't be back.
Country course
Played in under 3 hours so enjoyed that. Course is a little mundane up and back type holes. Front nine has some length but back nine a little hokey. Overall enjoyable day.
Rolling fairways but great greens
The fairways are in pretty poor condition with a lot of water erosion (drainage issues) but the layout is good and the greens were in very good condition with a lot of tiered areas and challenging breaks.
Green fees are reasonable and fair considering the overall quality of the course.
This course has no features
This is my fist time to paly there, the green and Fairway very bad condition
Worst ever
The fairways here are the worst I have ever played, and the general course condition is very poor at best.
Un jeudi matin à Oakland Golf club
Terrain très vieux et cela parait. Il n'y a pas de chemin pour les voiturettes et lorsqu'il pleut c'est un peu partout que ce fait le chemin.
Discount Course
This isn't a course i would play if it wasn't offered as a hot deal from golfnow. The fairways and rough are barely distinguishable. The course yardages and scorecard yardages are not accurate and the pace was very slow. The greens at least were in decent enough condition.
Bottom line there are better places to play even at this price point in the Niagara Reign and great places to play for slightly more cash.
Great Executive Course tucked away in Niagara Falls!
Had an enjoyable day playing at Oaklands GC. Been a member at Oaklands for over 5 years. Course superintendent Nicholas Morocco has done a fantastic job re-vitalizing the greens. Course appears to be in the best shape its ever been in. Kudos to the warm, friendly staff and Director of Golf Operations Joseph Grebenc who makes Oaklands a great place to play each and every year. Will be a member at Oaklands for many years to come
Golf
We were there early and staff let us go out, great day and lots of fun!!
fun times
this course is fun to play for the average golfer.it is very easy to navigate from hole to hole.the greens were in decent shape and had the old school flags one colour for the front nine ,a different colour for the back nine as opposed to how alot of the courses colour the flags by hole location on the greens .the fairway was on the long side and it made for some difficulty following the ball once it landed.the roughs were well rough , just like they should be. the staff were friendly and seemed to be playing catch up to get the course in better shape.members were helpful on how to play certain holes to help keep our scores lower. overall a nice homey course to waste 3.5 hours on a sunny, but windy day
cow pasture
the greens arte in great shape but the non-existing fairways are like a cow pasture,Having said this,it gave one an opportunity to practice shots one doesn't get very often. It appears that in an effort to repair horrible winter damage, more damage was done i.e. big tire tracks gouged out of the mud and clay on the fairways. Over all the course is not in great shape but maybe dryer weather will improve conditions.
Great Staff, Bad Drainage
Staff was extremely friendly upon arrival and when we stopped after 9. Greens were in decent shape considering the winter we had. The course was almost in swamp like conditions after rainfall a couple days prior. Not a bad track if you can get it for a decent price.
perfect day
perfect day for golf. Course in good conditions considering a lot of courses quite wet this time of year. Oaklands must drain well, as no standing water evident. Greens played firm but fair, in great shape when many course struggling with green conditions,.
Why golf now?
I booked a t time for me and a friend and when we got there the set price by golf now that I had reserved with my credit card was NOT honoured and had to pay nearly twice the advertised price which has never happened anywhere I have booked through golf now so I'm left wondering why would that course b affiliated with golf now when they do not honour their prices?
cow pasture
didnt deserve to be open due to wet conditions, almost got the cart stuck the "path", non existent l athough they did have 90 degree rule in place, but from where. Paid a low price and still not owrth it. Greens are excellent though.
Well designed course at great prices
Interesting balance between a few challenging holes and some pretty easy but not too short par 4 and 3s. Not hole #3 but 9 and 18 are my favorite designed par 5s in all of Niagara and Hamilton we can swing aggressively trying to reach the green in two with a very low risk of losing balls. If the greens, fairways and bunkers have much better maintenance this course can become one of the favorite golfing places in Niagara. Note: The rough and fairways look a little similar in some holes and the greens are slow not smooth and are damaged this was the same in the spring, summer and fall.
you get what you pay for
not a bad layout, smaller greens that need attention, short course great for beginners
