Oaklands Golf Club

Overall it was fun, lots of par 4s which done necessarily need a driver for when teeing off. Greens are very bumpy, but price was ok. Fun to play if your a serious golfer.

The greens were almost unplayable. I've only played a handful of courses. This one was the worst so far.

One thing that was disappointing was I Tee'd it up on #1 at 07:00. You'd think that the greens would have been cut from #1 to 18 --- the crew went at it on their own schedule, so, I had dew/uncut greens to content with amongst freshly cut greens.
Whichever, it's an easy course for those on a budget. Not too much else to say about this course.

The front nine went very we yielded our play to allow a lone female golfer continue unimpeded. The result was being stuck behind a 4 some that was painfully slow. Completion after nine holes I felt things were going very well. My friend stopped for a beer and a washroom break. We waited maybe 10 minutes for him to come back to play we hit the tee box...and we are waiting on the slow 4 some again who seem to be on the green forever! The game warden nicely approached my group and informed us to hurry our play along? Looking back at the tee box there was no one there nor was there anyone slowed by my groups play for the remaining holes on the back 9. I did not appreciate the speed up the game comment. A different approach would have been more acceptable. I do not think that i will be back to oaklands at all.

Friendly people, course in good shape. Will play again.

I felt the quality of the green were low in that it did not seem like real greens like I see at most courses. I did like the price and enjoyed the layout of the course.

First time using golf now and this worked great and will do it again

This course is on a yearly lease and hence the reason for its poor condition. Huge ruts in the fairways and grass clippings left on the greens.

I have played this course several times but this is the worst shape I have ever seen it. Why they would let carts out after the rain to rip the course up is beyond me. What a mess. We got stuck twice in the mud leaving the tee and tried to stay on a cart path but kept sinking.. need better drainage for sure and make people walk if it's that wet.

The 2 carts we had, both were in need of repair. Time to replace the carts they were backfiring and the one had really bad fumes permeating from it. The seats were torn in several places. Many pot holes in most fairways. I have golfed on this course 2 years ago and it has declined.

I've played Oaklands a good amount of times. It wasn't a positive experience the first time. That changed though the next year. Much better course conditions and if you can get on it when the weather is amazing and the course was recently maintained, it's actually a decent course. I will be playing Oaklands for sure this year.

Played Oaklands and the course was in very poor condition. Bunkers were like mud, around greens had muddy areas where no grass existed, greens were very poor with burn marks and actual grooves in grass. Especially the case on the back nine where some greens had more sand than grass....got this course as discounted hot deal at $12 after fees and taxes and it was not worth the $. Would have been better off to go and buy a large bucket at a range.......public range probably in better shape.

Was also areas where they had watered all night and were flooded - some sprinkler heads were leaking water out of them with no sprinkler attached

Very good value for price through golfnow. I am low handicap and my wife a beginner and worked out well for both.

fairways need attention, most greens fair at best,sand traps not groomed yet srtll had leaves around edges from last year no rakes out .

This course features a lot of mid to long range driver holes with wide fairways and few hazards. If you can stay out of the trees and water you will find it a satisfying course to play. It does provide some short hole challenges with running greens and sloping fairways. The fairways are in good shape for this time of yea, but the greens seemed to be needing attention as your ball would bounce and not roll true leaving an easy birdie or par putt for a bogey. All in all a good practice course.

I was visiting Niagara Falls for the weekend and selected the course primarily since it was reasonably close to my hotel and the price was reasonable.

Reception at the course was good .. friendly pro shop staff but it went down from there.

The cart that came with the booking looked like it had seen better days and as the round went on I was concerned that it would break down.
There were no cart paths and the terrain, including some of the fairways, were very rough and not maintained for quite some time. Granted it was early in the year but I was expecting better. The greens were in terible shape and unplayable. I ended up just hitting ot he green and picking up my ball.

Would not recommend this course.

I found the course to be well groomed even though it is October.
The people there were very nice to deal with.!

I have played there twice now and both the times I enjoyed my time. The course length is acceptable for an everyday golfer, it is fairly well maintained and is quite a challenge to shoot low on. The course plays in longer than usual time due to the volume of golfers.

I played the course on the 2nd of August. It was very dry, not watered at all. difficult to get under the ball with an iron. The course is average.

It was very disappointing to finish on the 9th hole and coulded go on further due to very rude mens league which preceeded in front of us.So we ended leaving very disgrunted.
