An afternoon at Rolling Meadows
We enjoyed our round of golf. We had planned on having dinner at the golf course. The offerings for dinner were no more than a halfway house got dog/sausage or chicken ceasar wrap, we took a pass and went elsewhere.
Pace of play was horrible, had three slow groups in front of us and the Marshall was no where to be found. Ground was not watered so it was not in that great of condition especially after 3 days of rain. Won’t be playing here again.
Good weekday morning round
Starter and clubhouse attendant wouldn’t let me play solo at 7:30am on a empty course because they said I would catch up to the grounds crew. I wanted to get a quick morning 18 in. So they paired me with another twosome. A little annoying but it was fine 3 of us Finished in under 3 hours.
Good value for a course suited for intermediate and beginners.
Good deal with a cart. Back nine a nicer layout than front 9. Rated staff Fair as we only saw the proshop and a starter. No marshalls or drink cart mid afternoon.
Nice greens and wide fairways mostly. Seems like a great course for twilight golf. We were not waiting much or being waited on, but round was longer than expected.
Fun afternoon on a nice course.
Pace of play in quite terrible
Waited about 40 minutes after tee time to actually tee off. Once teed off it took about 3 1/2 hours to do 9 holes. Total round length end up being around 5 1/2 hours, which isn’t right for the length and cost of this course.
laziness
in May you should be doing everything one could to get a course ready for the season. Weeds, weeds and more weeds. In bunkers (that were clay), in the parking lot, everywhere. No flowers, nothing. Greens ok. A first impression is what it is all about. Other courses are controlling weeds so why can't you. This course used to be decent but pure laziness is unacceptable. It is worth $30 (with a cart; which also stalls). Groundskeepers need some education on horticulture.
Good course
Course was very nice, had a cool layout. The cart paths really need to be redone but other than that, this is a good course for the cost to play.
