Mud, Blood but no Beer
Conditions - a mud pie absolutely terrible, should have been reduced price to play. Never seen so much mud and I'm from Vancouver!
Great for a quick fun round
Nice course to play if you don't have a lot of time and want to work on your short game. Some challenging holes. The course and practice greens are well maintained. Greens are a little slow but are in very good shape. There is also a nice 9 hole course if you don't have time for 18.
Nice course
My favorite executive length course in the GTA. Always well kept. Usually can play it in 3 hours. Great early morning discounts and senior rate on Tuesday's and weekends.
Nice course for a quick round.
Course layout pretty good conditions a bit try and turf hard. Not bad if you only have a couple of hours to play.
Had to play by myself????
Book my tee time through Golf Now
The next day try to see if there was still an opening in the foursome
But Golf Now showed it was all booked up
So my idea of trying to invite my friend was unavailable???
When I was told I could start my round of golf , I ended up playing by myself????
And while playing my round by myself, i noticed other players playing the course by themselves (on a Saturday)
So either this is a hidden gem or people just don't like to golf and walk(exercise)????
Otherwise I enjoyed my day with no one in front of me or behind me, while hitting extra balls for the other players I wasn't playing with
Fun course
- mostly open
- a lot of par 3’s
- some good challenges
- no power carts....not needed with so many par 3’s
- fun and would recommend
Great Value, Beautifully Kept Beginner Course
For $25 on a Sunday afternoon you can't go wrong with 18 holes on a well kept golf course. Purpose built for walking, hence the lack of carts, and a fun way to practice your game. Bunkers were in phenomenal shape, grass was well kept, but rough may have been a little too long (sometimes hard to find the ball). A great course to practice on and warm up in the early stages of the season. Also a perfect match for those looking to put in a quick round or get some good exercise for the day.
Oakville's hidden gem
Friendly staff and a very forgiving course for beginners and enough challenge for seasoned golfers.
Love the choice between taking on an 18 hole game or 9 holes.
Always love the drive in on the winding Lower Base Line scenic road.
Great course
Needs more par 5s, but overall great par 4s and very long par 3s
Excellent greens and fairways.
I was allowed to go ahead of scheduled tee time, a much welcomed change from last year when I had to stupidly wait 20 minutes for my tee time while there were no golfers teeing off.
Excellent greens, fairways and sand bunkers.
Big bonus is the 2 free cold water stations, the only golf course in GTA that offer such amenity.
A very hot day making it a little unpleasant out there, however, the t-boxes and greens were still in good shape but the fairways were very dry and hard. having said that understand completely keeping fairways green during extended hot periods is near impossible. Overall a good course to play with focus on shorter irons.
This course is a pleasant surprise
The course condition was excellent. Being an Executive course I expected less par 4's let alone the 2 par 5's. A great chance to put away the driver and focus on the short game. Also, a perfect time to work on par 3 accuracy. Another big surprise was the reastaurant - really good food and service.
Pleasant afternoon round of golf
This course is very playable but not without its challenges. Being an occasional golfer, I found this just right. Got to use most of the clubs in my bag. The greens are fairly large and had challenges. The staff is super friendly as are the patrons. It was refreshing to see so many younger players and families out the course together. I will definitely play here again and definitely recommend it to friends.
yardages
I played Mystic Ridge for the third time today and confirmed something that had troubled me last year about what is otherwise an excellent course for inexpert golfers. The yardages provided on the tee-box signs and in the scorecard, especially on the back nine, are doubtful at best. If, for instance, the 13th hole is truly 138 yards, there is no way that I should be able to hit an 8 iron 10 yards beyond the green. I did make the best contact i made all day, and there was a bit of a tailwind, but I cannot hit an 8 150 yards. And I repeated the experience with a 6 iron on the supposedly 163-yard 16th. I'd recommend backing off one club from what you think you need on pretty well all of the back 9 par 3s.
