Great bargain
If you want a quick round that's priced right and has greens in good shape, this is the place!
Well maintained good course
Everything was good except pace of play. Slow play from previous groups were unbearable that I had to leave after 9 holes and there's no staff who could usher them. Need a ranger to teach some people a golf etiquette.
Mostly Positive - Priced High for What You Get
I play OE once or twice per year. Great course for newbies and average golfers. Not terribly long, and great to walk. Club house is above average and menu is above average. Sandwich prices are good and food is good. Golf fees are pricey however. Always feel like I paid too much. Would recommend the 9-holer which has some nice holes.
Great Value!
The fairways have suffered from the extremely hot and dry summer weather, but the Tees and Greens were in excellent condition. Course is well layed out and incorporates water and bunkers to make the course interesting for various levels of golfers. I enjoyed it so much I am returning at the end of the week to play golf with my brother-in-law.
Fairways are very dry and brown.
The fairways were in bad shape but the greens are well maintained.
great potential
Overall I would play this course again at the $15 golfnow rate. Clubhouse is nice and they have nice practice facilities (two putting greens and a short 70 yard practice hole with a bunker). Staff was nice. The layout of the course is not the greatest. The ninth hole goes nowhere near the clubhouse and wont go near there until 16. The greens are in great condition, holding incoming shots and I green and lush. However fairways are basically brown everywhere and quite dry. Also on the back nine there is a stretch of 5 par 3's in a row. But for 15 bucks you get a good test of golf and as far as executive courses go this is one of the better ones.
good layout for a short course
This is a fairly good course for a short 18 holes. We were lucky there was no one immediately in front of us so the pace was good. It can get crowded some days and the pace becomes slow. Given the dry season the course was in good shape with great greens. A few hazards and enough rough to keep you honest.
Mystic Ridge
Oakville executive is one of the best executive par 3 courses around the gta area. The location is not too far away from Toronto so the drive time is not too demanding even with traffic . Despite the dryness / lack of rain the greens are in good condition the rough can be challenging when it's grown. It will allow you to practise all shots at various holes. The 18 hole mystic ridge is easy to walk and the 9 hole Angel course will challenge you from the back tees with the forced carries and water in strategic areas. Despite not having a driving range yet ( let's hope they can fix that) the value for the money is perfect for this course that always tries to overachieve . The clubhouse is also large enough to host small functions yet modern and spacious enough not to make you feel like you have to leave right away. If they only were to add some large screen tv's I'm sure they would have more patrons hanging around at the " peverbial 19th hole".
Shhhh it's a secret ..... outstanding greens!
Oakville Executives' Mystic Ridge is a great place to get a fun round of golf in, weekday or weekend. I just love the greens here, will hold your highest approach shots without bouncing and rolling off. The entire course is truly in great condition. Staff go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable round, very accommodating and very polite as well. My only issue with OE is with their pricing, it's a tad high for a executive style course unless you can score an online last minute deal.
With that being said if you decide to play here you won't be disappointed. One last observation, they have a great parking lot with loads of space available.
Great Course, Great People, Great Food
Oakville Exec. is a great option for a quick round! The course condition is 5 stars, esp considering its still early on in the season! Its great for first-timers and avid golfers! The course gives you a few par four/five options that can be very challenging with some of the hole positions. The true beauty about the course are the par three's. Its great practice for your short game and allows you to focus on your approach shots for the best putting practice. Their Club House is big and modern and their kitchen provides great food! Their beer selection is top-notch and the large selection makes everyone happy! Some people dont quite respect executive or shorter golf courses as much as the par 70's/72's but this course will forever have me coming back! Overall, well done Oakville Exec!
Pretty good
Short executive course good for short game work. Well maintained and empty great pace of play
First time on this course
Close to home, but never got around to playing here. Enjoyed the course and found it challenging enough, meaning you still have to select the right clubs.
What I expected
We found exactly what we expected at this shortish course. The greens were in fantastic condition and it was a pleasant day. We were paired with a single golfer and we thoroughly enjoyed our round.
great value
If you want to sharpen your game or you are a beginner, this is the course for you. Short course but it has very challenging pin placements. great value and easy to walk. I made a mistake on golfnow booking the wrong day, the staff was very understanding and said they would make sure they fit me in!!! I would recommend this course to anyone and will be back for sure.
Great place to test your iron yardage
Played a twilight round on this 18 hole par 63. Greens were in excellent shape, fairway was cut superbly. Although it has a very straightforward layout, the conditions at this public course really make it stand out. Hole 18 is a par 5, only about 420 yards from the tips. I eagled it, first ever!!! But it should really be a par 4. Try this course out if you haven't.
Decent
Good course. It had a good amount of hazards and nice greens
Great course to work on short game
Short executive. There are two par 5s that play as long par 4s. Excellent value when get a hot deal to work on your iron and short game. Pace of play weekday afternoons is great (3 hrs or less). Greens are in good shape but are very slow.
