Course is fading away
This course could be one of the premier courses in Ontario due to the topography and layout but unfortunately it’s in such bad shape. The tee boxes are rock hard, greens are brown and the trails for mountain biking they created are running dirt onto the fairways. Such a shame.
1st round at Hockly Valley
Very Nice course and scenery, will play there again in the fall.
One of the best run courses in Ontario
top-notch service, this place has really stepped up for the golfers.
Always a good time.
Peaceful oasis just outside of the city.
Overpriced, but still enjoyable.
I snagged a deal rate but when green fees have increased year after year and it seems overall quality of the course has declined. Doesn’t make much sense. It’s still a fun course with scenic holes and unique hole layouts but far over priced. For $100+ I expect at the very least tee boxes, fairways, and greens to be well above average. That was not the case…
Hockley Valley
Played Hockley Valley on Monday March.23. Had originally booked for 4 players but two had to back out in the morning because they had symptoms of Covid. This was approximately 9:30am when they told me they couldn’t play. My friend advised he called the clubhouse and spoke with a woman and advised her of their illness and couldn’t make it.
When I arrived I told the staff the same, and only two of us were going to play at 11:30am but they still ended up charging my credit card for two extra people, $250.00 for the two people who didn’t play.
I guess they don’t care and need the money but I was really disappointed in there attitude. Myself and my friends will not be playing here again.
Too much repairing going on
Always loved this course. It is a gem
But too much repairing and construction is going on now and the experience is not great
Is one holes is like plying in a quarry and others are in poor maintenance
There is some repair going on in number 10 that takes away all the old beauty of it
Hope is back to its old self or better soon
Overpriced
Hockley is a nice course, but the prices have gone up to the point that it is not a good value. No beverage cart and the halfway house is closed.
For the money, I expected more.
Disappointed...
Course needs TLC
Cart path is in real need of repair. Cart gotten stuck several times in muddy terrain.
Ball washers have been removed from carts and no ball washes on the course.
Staff didn't offer bottled water either.
Thanks for contacting us at the Pro Shop, glad we could straighten that out for you.
Hi,
We were not open on March 23, perhaps it was a different date.
We are not able to locate your booking or contact information but this would not be the way in which this should have been dealt with.
Please reach out to us at the Pro Shop or contact our Director of Golf as we would love to have you back out.
