Great afternoon
Picked this up through Golfnow and was surprised at the amount of challenges on the course. It was wet because it had rained a lot during the week, but the course was still in good shape.
don't bother
Terrible shape and the don't even serve alcohol. Would never play there again.
This course is not for the golfer who likes manicured greens.
This course is not for the golfer who likes manicured greens, a number of them had bare spots and were quite patchy. We walked the course and it was a good walk, would take a cart next time. A lot of hazards and it was difficult to see where you where going on some fairways. Overall it was an average course, with a great price compared to most clubs around. We enjoyed our day.
Good layout
Played course a few years ago and the course seems to have not improved. Back nine is in better condition than front. Views and layout are nice. There needs to some improvements made to bunkers and greens. The priced I paid there was good valve for the money.
Beautiful
What a beautiful course......mature trees, hilly, some water hazards.
Very shabby course
Course is in terrible shape. Unkempt tee blocks sand traps are a joke. Greens are very unpredictable. Overall condition of course is extremely shabby.
A Little Rough
Had a great day golfing in spite of the fact that the course is a little rough around the edges. Great views from many of holes, particularly 1 and 10.
a good place to practice
This course is always empty as they are not reliable to what condition it is in. But on Sunday it was in fair shape and I golfed later in the afternoon. It is a great place to go and practice parts of your game. I had nobody ahead or behind me so I was able to practice chip shots and longer irons etc. Really enjoyed my 9 holes and think I helped parts of my game by doing so.
Not worth it, even for $25 bucks riding.
Course is not worth to play. Poor condition tee boxes and fairways. Most greens were alright, some were in poor condition. Cart paths were like ATV trails, super bumpy. Fairways are covered in leftover cut grass, bunkers are basically solid mud patches. Course is fairly easy though.
Interesting course! Lots of quirky holes!
The sand traps were a bit rough, there was a tad too much water around the lower fairways but overall a very enjoyable round of golf! This isn't a 100 a round golf course, but they're not charging a hundred dollars a round =)
Excellent course for beginning to intermediate players! The staff were friendly and the prices are good. all in all what else do you want or expect for a great price!
"Country club" lost in translation
Yes it is a golf club and yes it's in the country, but that's where the similarities end. The directions to get there are just wrong, the entrance to the course isn't marked and the club house consists of a series of adjoined aluminum sheds in varying degrees of decay. If u can get a cheap rate( under $20 is as high as I'd go) and you are prepared for fairway grass heights that are measured in inches, then knock yourself out. Otherwise look elsewhere
Diamond in the rough(really rough)
This is a well designed course and is interesting to play. Unfortunately, it is not well looked after. Having a background in greens keeping, I almost want to buy it and fix it up. It has tons of potential to be an all around great course. Even being a little short, it's just a shame to see broken signs, missing tee blocks and overflowing garbage cans. I'd still go back even though it's heartbreaking to see this gem in that state.
good golf
price for average people
had a good time and enjoyed ourselves
Gone downhill
We booked with Golf Now and got an early tee off spot to beat the forecasted rain. We show up on time but there was now one around until 20 mins. after we arrived. And as expected got rained off the course (17th hole). The course is getting very neglected, the sand traps are all grown over and not raked at all. Last year was not the best but now it is embarrassing. I will go else where from now on.
A pity
A very nice piece of property and a decent layout, but the course has been let go completely. The grass in the fairways is longer than the rough on most courses. The tee blocks are weed-infested and overgrown. There is no sand in the bunkers and the weeds have fully grown over the bunkers anyway.
Forget yardage markers, paths, or even visibility to where to hit a shot. Someone with money to invest could make it a very nice little course.
Pathetic
Never known to be in tip top shape, Orillia's shortcomings were forgiven because it was a fun layout. No more, 2 inch long grass leavings all over the course, at least where it's been cut, poison ivy growing in the sandless traps, anthills all over the greens. The course is barely fit to play, worst conditions I have ever seen at any course anywhere!!!
Love the layout, needs investment in course care
This could be the best course in the Orillia area... The layout and elevations are great! greens aren't always great, and the grooming of the course is something to be desired. Everytime I play this course I find myself saying that I wish a large investment firm would purchase it and turn it into a world class course. Price is right and the staff is helpful.
