Nice day Poor conditions !
Nice sunny day but the course was pretty burnt out. A lot of the greens were 1/2 unplayable. Have not seen the course like this before ?
Love the Design, But I'm Done!
Last month I came and thought that it was getting pretty bad, but since I had bought an UnderPar deal, I thought I'd better come back. The lady in the pro shop was great! That's where the good ended. The cart guys/starter were in a tizzy. Not enough carts for the tee times. When we finally got a cart, it was touch and go as to whether it was going to go or not! The tees are in poor shape with mounding in the middle and very dry spots. The fairways were very dry and hard with lots of dead spots. The greens have been watered, but for many it was too late. Lots of dead spots -- up to half of some of the greens! Sadly, they have no guidance on pin placement and all the flags are white! Even the bell on the 7th hole no longer works to tell you when it's safe to tee off! If I had been paying full price, I would have been angry! I can't believe the members put up with it and that they even have any members left! GolfNorth should be ashamed! If they are going to continue to charge full price then they need to put out a better product on the course! The Mootes would be disgusted and ashamed! No more money from me for this course!
First ten
First ten holes. Plays like a golf course. After that it’s like they ran out of money.
The 27 dollars for a car a complete rip off. I mean I could rent a car for that. I’m never going to play any course who hoses people during Covid. Plus the carts are so old. 50 min drive and will not be back.
The course was very dry and not worth the money. Greens and fairways were very dried out and damaged. Never should have been charged full price due to poor conditions
Golfnorth’s disaster.
$42 turned into &$69 per person with cart. The fairways and greens were a disaster. Typical uncare on a great layout course owned by Golfnorth. Shameful.. won’t play there again. Look for a family owned course that’s maintained. Cheers.
Awful
Hoping to get a full refund after playing this course which has been neglected since being sold to developers. Don’t waste your money.
It needs water
Played here several times before and it was in much better condition. the course is unfortunately very dried out and Really need somE tlc
Disappointed
Doesn’t look like any watering was done on the course...dead grass on fairways and some greens . $60 with cart was a rip off , should be $35 at best . Hadn’t been there in years , obviously on a slim budget , too bad , use to be one of my favourites.
It was different then whatI remembered.
Lots of pretty holes but the fairways were rock hard and they just aerated the greens a few days prior so they were pretty much unplayable. We all just said 2 putt greens. Also because of maintenance the course had us teeling off in weird spots changing some of the nicer holes and making them much shorter. It was decent but I remember it being a great course. Back in the day.
Not like it used to be
Our foursome, overall - plays well. Today was the first time for the majority of them so of course you need to get to know the course to play well.
With nobody directly behind us (waiting on the tee etc), the Marshall took it upon himself to tell us we were 15 mins off pace. Well...:so was everyone. Then he proceeded to watch us for a hole - not satisfied that 2 of us birdied and the other 2 par’d - told us again that the rest of the course was backed up.
Wasn’t us I reminded him. In all we got around in 4.29 all in with nobody waiting behind us, Grounds crew all over the place on 4 holes etc. We paid full pop for a course that was in mediocre shape ( sure this summer was hard but every other course I’ve played in the last 2 weeks we’re just fine)
In all - played there several times before, had a great time. This will be the last time I play there. Seems to matter not if there’s nobody behind you, if they feel your not playing fast enough, you’ll hear about it.
Not what I expected on a Thursday while I’m on vacation hosting some friends at a course I told everyone was a hidden gem.
If it wasn’t for the marshalling attitude, would be ok. It’s the first time I’ve ever been told by anyone to speed up and the last time I play Oaks of St George.
Great round!
Great set up, course and greens were in really nice shape. Course requires you to be accurate off the tee but opens up.
A little dry
Really great design, but like most courses right now, a little dry. Great value for money.
Nice course but no cart attendant
On a hot day, I would expect a beer cart attendant. We teed off at 11:00 am and no beer available until the 10th hole. They did provide us with a mini cooler and ice, which was great for the back nine.
Course on the dry side...Some Tee blocks completely crunchy , some Greens have disaeased dead blotches
