I love this course
I love this course. I have played it twice a year since 2005 and its better every time.
Awesome property !
The course was in good condition, greens were fast, nice landscape from tee to green. Will be back soon, only issue was the cart girl was only seen when we were on 9 & 18, bad timing on our part, lol,
Very interesting course looking forward to each hole
This is the first time I played this course and I was quite pleased with the whole course. I love it when it's up and down and rock and water .
Very difficult, tight course.
If you are an average golfer, bring a ton of balls - this course is pure target golf with very little room for error.
Very enjoyable morning.
Play on the front nine was a little slow. But course has improved greatly and there's a new club house nice.
Great course terrile ammenties and staff
Love the golf course, played numerous times, clubhouse is finally open but doesn't change anything. Can't get a coffee in the morning as nothing is open until 11. Bring your beer in your bag as the only time we saw the beer cart was on the 18th fairway in a 4.5 hour round.
Beautiful layout.
Have played course 3 times now, and have to say it is quite challenging. Played from blues can just imagine how the golds play.
The one thing this course really lacks though for a course that will see lots of first time players is hole layouts. (not everyone carries a smart phone) Could easily be put on score card if signage costs are too much.
Scenic, Difficult Course.
Beautiful layout with only a 2 'boring holes.' The island green and rock wall holes make up for it entirely. The course was a little soggy from all the rain, but the staff were very friendly. Not much forgiveness here - errant drives will be punished; I added an extra 10 strokes to my game. Full price would be a little steep, but no doubt they charge as much as the do because of how much it cost them to build the property.
Nice but needs the little things
A challenging and scenic course fitting for the Muskoka region but lacking in some of the little details that merit such a big green fee. While the course was in very nice shape even after a couple of rainy days and had cheerful staff, playing Seguin for the first time was tricky because there was no play book available for yardages like other local competitors (the Rock, The Ridge at Manitou, Parry Sound G & CC). As a long hitter off of the tee, I found myself getting into more trouble than usual, a direct result from guessing yardages to the edges of hazards and such.Provided that each hole required strategic thinking off of the tee, this is a much needed addition for this course that I hope they include before I return.
In addition, the club house is incomplete and, as a result, uninviting for telling stories at the 19th hole.
Overall, lots of target golf off the tee with narrow fairways and exposed glacial rock. I would place it somewhere between the Rock (high difficulty) and the Parry Sound (moderate difficulty) and comparable to the Ridge at Manitou with scenery that represents this region well.
Beautiful course.
Raining the morning we were to tee off and they wouldn't let us change our tee off time because is was booked online.
Simply amazing views, scenery, and conditions
Must've been a top 100 course in Ontario for a reason (2013 Fairways magazine; #77)...
I played on a not-so-busy and gorgeous Saturday a day after significant rainfall (so pace of play was great) and the only rough spots I noticed was a couple of wet bunkers and a somewhat beat up fairway area (barely) in front of a green so it appears this course drains quite well!
But other than that, simply amazing views, greens and fairways were in excellent/pristine condition, the prettiest hole I've ever seen/played (hole #7; a par 3 over a lake!), clubhouse and staff were excellent and overall, probably the most memorable golf outing of my life! Had no complaints, would definitely come back and I highly recommend it to all! And for a high handicapper (I score in the 100s on easy courses, 110-120+ on tough courses), I actually did quite alright here! (scored a 99 :-))
A Hidden Gem
I have played many golf courses all over the world... This is in the top five in my books. Well worth the drive up from Barrie. I will be returning there for many visits.
Friendly staff, clean facilities, and a beautiful golf course.
Awesome Course Layout
Loved this course, nicest scenery in Canada. Mixture on marsh, granite, water and of course mature trees. Staff was great, new clubhouse almost complete, great food. The greens were as smooth and true as ever, challenging fairways but not to punishing. The perfect mix. A whole bunch of signature holes, a definite must play course!
Fabulous greens
At full price this course would be nearly worth the money, but with GolfNow, I paid less to play this magnificent course than to play an average course in Muskoka. 5 sets of tee blocks, lots of space between holes, tremendous natural landscape. The tee blocks are in better shape than some courses greens, the fairways are open and inviting, and lacking in nasty surprises, the rough varies on each hole but doesn't punish you for errant shots unfairly. The real story here are the greens, which are the best I've ever played. Lush, challenging, and meticulously maintained, with these greens you get a true roll and they are very consistent.
Canadian Shield Golf at its best
Tee'd off on a Sunday at 12:30 and basically had the course to ourselves. Interesting holes, Hole #7 really unique with the forward tees being in the middle of a lake! Forward tees are short and the middle tees are challenging. Can't imagine what the back tees present. Overall, a perfect example of a golf course in the Canadian Shield.
Great Experience!!
Overall course was in great condition. Bunkers could of been raked, and little reminence of verticutting left on the green, rolled smooth tho. Greens were a little slow I found for a course like this. Every hole seemed to have its own touch of beauty and kept you on your toes. Bring all your clubs as your going to need them. We played from the golds as it was maybe a little ambitious for our first time, but we had fun. Needs a course guide booklet, to let you know what your getting yourself into on some of those blind shot holes, as we thought we were good on some of our shots only to come over the hill and see a hidden marsh. However they do have those 2D bar codes on each, so you can scan it with your smart phone and they will show you a flyover of the hole.
Beautiful course!
Course is in great shape, not busy so you can get around in 3 1/2 hours. Is a definite challenge.
A Must Play Course
Absolutely loved this course and the scenery, each hole was unique and felt as if you were the only ones on the course. Clubhouse was looking great, food was excellent and staff were friendly. I would recommend this course for any player of any skill level. It is a true gem of the north!
