Great country course and well worth a drive to Perth
This course was a great course to play. It was well maintained and the staff were very friendly. All new golfers to the course receive a yardage book detailing all the possible hazards you might encounter while playing each hole. The course has a nice layout and is challenging enough. The course is relatively flat but the design makes up for the limited change in elevation. It was easy to find and is very close to Perth if you want to buy a lunch or pick up a coffe afterwards. This was a great value for the course. I would highly recommend to give this course a try. I'm sure it won't disappoint.
Good value for average golfer
The fairways and greens were in good condition. This is a shortish course but small and deceptive greens provide a challenge. Thick grass and bush will punish a bad shot. Some blind holes will confound a first time golfer - you should probably use an iron off the tee. Starting at noon, we finished in under 3 hours. An excellent value through GolfNow.
Why pay for a private course
I have been a member at numerous course over the decades and paid a large amount of money to play at a private course. After playing at Mapleview, I now know playing at a private course in Ottawa is a waste of money. Mapleview offers a great layout at a great price. Do not waste your money playing at over priced so called private course in Ottawa ...Save your money and enjoy a day a Mapleview. Great staff that offers a $10 reply ,with cart...Beat that over priced Ottawa courses.............Some courses in Ottawa boost about a 4 hour round of golf. Well, we played in 3.5 hours ,following a group of 4 players...Some course think they offer a great product, well you need to get out and play a Mapleview and see how a golf course gives you a great golf experience...Good for you Mapleview...............
Great Value
Course is in good condition especially considering how dry it has been over the past few months. Greens are good. Sand traps are still a concern- more gravel than sand. Overall good value- scenic, well maintained and challenging.
Dry spring, makes hard dry summer
'This is a good country course. They've made nice progressive changes to it over the years. New mounding, new tee boxes, all good. They are however suffering from an unusually dry spring leaving the course hard and dry. Expect many hard pan lies.
Up side, the ball rolls forever.
If you can't get a t time anywhere else
Stupid layout with ridiculous hole designs.
#2 if you hit a perfect t shot you are faced with 75' tall maple trees to hit a 5 iron over.
#3 par three, from the back tees you face an over hanging tree that you have to hit a 7 iron under. Stupid!
I can't go on - I may quit the game, greens are 6 or 7 on the stimp
Another great round...
We play this course on weekend usually trying for early Sunday morning or late in the day on Saturday. The course is very pretty with a good bit of water and some sand. The green are usually very fast and as the cup position moves frequently, can be a challenge.
A very pleasant experience and a great value for the money...
Average
This is an average course in the Ottawa area. Would go back for the right price. They have a good deal for replay with cart. $10
Wonderful Atmosphere!
We have golfed many times on this course and the staff are so friendly & accommodating. Glen, Thank You for always making us feel so Welcome!
The course in is great shape!
If you want to experience customer service the way it is supposed to be and have a great day on a golf course then you need to play a round @ Mapleview!!!.
great course
Course was in great condition. I was very pleased with the overall play of the course. If you are out in the area it is worth it to go play.
The service was great but the food is not the best. Other than that it is great well worth the drive from ottawa
Worth the drive
This is one of those country golf courses that are unassuming from the road but someone there knows what they are doing. We played for $12.99 each w/cart on golfnow.com so even with gas expense, still a terrific deal. The greens were in the top 2 or 3 we've played this year and we've played at 7 different medium priced courses so far. Rough is thick but evenly cut and fair. Extremely well kept. Very picturesque course with rolling hills but no frustrating uphill/downhill/sidehill lies in the middle of the fairway. We'll go again.
hidden jem
Every thing was very good.
Interesting course . better than the pictures.
Nice flat tee boxes. Fairways in good shape
Nice greens. Wish i lived closer.
Hidden Gem
A delight to play..many risk / reward holes. Greens are small,in excellent shape, very true and consistent in speed. No boring holes here. Very impressed with the friendly staff.. Check this course out ...it is an excellent test in the Rideau Lakes are, very close to Perth Ontario
Course continues to improve
swe started off rather slow, but pace picked up and we were finished in 4 1/2 hours. Course was in good condition for having just opened. Great deals in the pro shop.
Glad we played
At this late day in the year the course was in very good shape. There were still staff working the course. Greens were cut and fast.
Nice layout.
I would recommend it.
Excellent course needs more promo
This course seems to improve every year -- the conditions are excellent. Had a little problem with the holes seeming to be raised at the lip(s), perhaps due to excessive foot traffic in close proximity over extended time period..? (eg. during aeration recovery ?) Regardless, the course is more interesting than it looks from the highway -- too bad the four visible holes (1, 9, 10, 18) look rather plain because there is so much more interest further back.
Great Course
The whole course is in perfect shape. The greens are well kept.
Will return in future .
Very scenic!
We had to play the front nine twice as the back nine was closed for aeration. The greens were nasty, with holes and sand and didn't play as they should. This course is very women golfer friendly as they take the really hard play at the tee boxes out. The course is very colourful now and beautiful. Just wish we could have played the back nine, heard it is great. Next time!
An Appealing and Well-maintained Course
It was a cold cloudy day when we played but the course conditions were very good and it was a challenging course on the whole for both myself and my partner. The course is very appealing to the eye with flower beds at most tees and they are all well maintained. We found some of the ladies' tees to be a lot shorter (almost 80-100 yards) from the mens'. We found the staff to be welcoming and conscientious on all our visits. It's certainly worth the drive to play Mapleview and the value is unbeatable with their special deals.
