Very wet but course held well
We were drenched but the course held the water well. Love the course layout and great for the short hitters. Great staff and highly recommend this course.
Excellent Hot Deal
Fairways and greens were in better condition than other local courses we have played this spring - all of which have been struggling due to bad weather. The only negative for us was that a lot of the course was too wet for carts and so it was "cart path only" which made for more walking than we would have liked.
Excellent Course
The course is in great condition and provides a challenge with a variety of holes. My only complaint is the golfNow booking app and the multiple emails asking me for a review.
Members out of Order
We play here quite often and enjoy the staff and the course. As we headed to the back nine, two walking groups of 4 had cut infront of us on the tenth hole. They were obviously part of a special Friday night nine play. We were 4 on carts. The back nine has a numberof long par 5s. The pace of the two waking groups was very slow. We unhappily gave up, played the front nine a second time.
Fin day
This course is very scenic and for the price in very good condition. Some of the greens had been aerated but still putted okay. The bunkers could use some work but at this price and given the time of year that would asking alot. Look forward to going back next year. If you have never golfed this course put it on the list.
Pretty course in a pretty town
Our foursome teed off at 3 p.m. on a gorgeous but unusually hot and sunny mid September Sunday. The beer/beverage cart was out and made its appearance in a timely manner!
The course layout is good and holes are well marked and the general condition was good. The carts are quick and comfortable too.
We debated favourite holes and #3, a short par 3 over the river made the list as did the par 4 #6 which requires hitting over water again, this time over a fair sized pond.
The staff were all friendly, efficient and accommodating.
We'll all be back.
Lovely changeling course
Not that difficult but can bite hard if you are not careful with your shots. Lots of water to gobble up your balls. Fairways smooth and undulating, greens in great shape and tricky. Pretty setting. Pace under four hours.
Great Time
Played with 2 non members from another area and had a great time. The course was in good shape, drying fair bit but still green on the fairways. Greens were good shape, straight, readable and medium speed.
Beautiful old course.
This Canada's oldest course at 125 years +. The layout is varied so all the clubs get used. Positioning is important. Greens are in great shape and very interesting and varied. Love this course.
Nice track
A nice older course, with an interesting layout. You need to think about your game to do well - this isn’t a driver on every hole course. The greens are small for the most part.
Pretty in Perth
This course is not just pretty, it’s interesting and challenging as well. Hitting over the water on the short par 3 third hole is always fun—hit short and you’re in the river, go long and you may not find your ball in the woods at the back. It’s a dilemma that’s worse for some than others. The other hole that seriously challenges me is the fifth, 125 yards looks so much longer when it’s across a pond! We’ll be back.
Front Nine Offers Nicer Layout than Back Nine
The front nine is much easier to walk. There are two nice water holes, no 3 and no 6. Suggest to make a slight draw on no 9 to avoid the water on the right hand side. However a slight fade is needed for your drive on no 10 to avoid water on the left hand side but not so much to end up in the driving range, or use your fairway wood for positioning your drive You can also use a fairway wood for no 16 as it is a severe dogleg to the right. I only wish the rough had been cut a little shorter on the back nine.
Quality in Perth
The Perth Golf Course is a very interesting course which has good fairways which are generally wide enough for errant shots. The greens were aerated recently however in the summer they tend to be challenging in speed and pin placement.
Beautiful course out in the country.
We were worried about a 2pm tee time with it getting dark early now and got there quite early. They had an opening coming up and let us start an hour early. The course has some interesting challenges but it was fun to play. It is about 1.5 hours out of Ottawa but worth the drive. We like to play it once or twice each year.
Canada's oldest course
Nice layout! The front nine is the original 9 with smaller greens , except #6 which was likely updated when the back nine was added. The back nine is a little tighter with more woods and larger greens. Overall the course is in good shape and fun to play!
Green, lush, flora plus.
I enjoyed everything about the course except: very slow groups ahead who didn't acknowledge us as we waited on virtually every shot; rough adjacent to fairways was 3-4 inches long. Lost balls and searches that came up empty slowed play considerably. The rough may easily be cut shorter to avoid this aggravation.
The oldest and one of the best
Love playing Perth Golf Club. Several times a year make the drive and it never disappoints. Conditions were miserable due to persistent rain but it didn't seem to matter. Would play this course everyday if it was closer. Best greens around and risk reward shots all over.
Until next year.
Worth the drive from Ottawa
Course in good condition with nice greens. Layout is a bit difficult for beginners but we have a very good round that day. Well worth the drive with GN hot deals.
Value for money
Great shape
Forgiving course well maintained.
Go and enjoy.
