Nice tough course. Tee shots if not in play very difficult. The course like many others right now in the region are very wet making it extremely difficult. Hitting lots of fat shots or trying to pick the ball blading it like a line drive. Having walked the course which was no problem. The bad thing is all the flags are the same color making impossible to know where the pins are. Front middle back is a guessing game. If you are to play bring plenty of balls. Another thing I noticed was if you lost your tee shot to right or left as each fairway is lined with trees there should be more red stakes to speed up play. Unless you’re in a tournament then make it a fun day and just drop another ball and hit 3. Anyways would love to try it with better conditions.
Difficult track but poorly maintained
We unfortunately played the first 6 holes in pouring rain. Course layout interesting but difficult. Not for golfers over 16 handicap. Conditions very poor. Bunkers mud and stones or underwater. Inadequate drainage of bunkers. Greens great. Some cart. Paths under water (18th hole)
Need to play a few times but still a difficult course and this was from my partner who is a scratch golfer
front nine hole layout
Front ninth hole par 5 needs serious changes. Fairway to small for low handicaps let alone high handicaps. The hole in general is poorly designed. Course should be widened, specifically the front nine.
Overall beautiful looking course, but needs some redesign.
So, the course is beautiful and in great condition. Staff friendly. However, there is no margin for error. Slightly hook or slice the ball and it’s gone. Just open up the fairways a bit more and it would be soooo much better. I might lose a ball here or there on a regular round, but here, today, 12!!! Too many!!! Played mostly from the blues, until I got frustrated and played a few from the whites. Won’t play there again. 9th hole is the worst par 5 ever.
Went for dinner after and the food and service were excellent. Would definitely go back to eat.
Very challenging course
We enjoyed our round today at Oak Bay. The course was in very good condition except for numerous ball marks on the greens from lazy golfers who did not fix them. If you are looking for a course to challenge your abilities, this is the course. Lots of long carries and into greens that have a lot of undulations and movement to them. Always enjoy playing Oak Bay
Not for the new golfer
Course is in great shape and it is in a beautiful place had a lot of run . Front nine has the hardest 2 par 5 I have played and par 3 the back nine got easier and played better.A corse you need to play at least once .i will be back.If you are a new golfer brig a lot of balls you are going to need them
Great day at Oak Bay
Course greens, fairways and tee boxes are in great shape.
Course is a tough layout, but don’t rate it poorly because it is tough. Not the courses fault! Playing well? You’ll have a great day. Hit it poorly and the course will bite back. Course management and hitting fairways are the key.
Beautiful challenging course
This course was beautiful, but way too challenging for me. I lost more than a dozen balls. Some of the carries were unachievable for me.
Would love to go back to the course of it was less challenging. For someone wanting a challenge, go for sure!
The course was nice I had heard a lot of great things about it. So that's why i want to play it. fair ways and greens where nice. bunkers where absolutely garbage... if you are going to have them please put sand in them .... they where a disaster... very sad for such a nice course.
Thanks for the best day
We were running super late because of an accident on the highway and staff was SO accommodating and really went above and beyond to help us. Nothing but great things to say. Such an incredible day on a beautiful course.
This course is very picturesque, and the conditions of the course itself decent. They have a goose problem and on a number of holes it was overly evident given the droppings on the green and the fairway. It is a narrow course and you need to be accurate. I do not like courses that take clubs out of your hand. Par 5's should not have 195 yards to the marsh but 301 to carry it. Why bring a driver. Pace was good and clubhouse is nice. They are building homes everywhere and that also creates an issue if you are accidentally off line. I am not sure I would play this course again. It just was not a course for me. But certainly if you love a great view, and there are some stunning holes you may enjoy this course.
The course is all ready for you.
This course is in pristine condition. Fairways are lush and the greens are rolling true to form. This course is no joke, bring your A game and maybe a few extra balls. The brakes are found on the par 5s and the difficulties are found on the par 3s NO place to spray the tee shot. Scenery is beautiful and weĺl worth the trip from anywhere. We played Deer Hurst and Lora Bay and they do not compare to the Oak. By the way the food is exceptional. Hope you enjoy this hidden gem just off the 400 at Port Severn.
Beautiful courses. Came to play from Montréal with my brother. Golf conditions and the courses was perfect. 5 stars.
