Course in excellent condition
Course in excellent condition. Cold day, hardly anyone on the course. No problem moving up tee-time.
SLOW SLOW SLOW
Incredibly frustrating pace of play.
Can say that enough. No Marshall's to be seen
People just have to focus and be ready to play.
Not just wandering around aimlessly, always searching for golf balls, when all being played by the group are in the fairway.
Also course was super wet, despite no recent extensive rainfall.
Course was in excellent shape...fairways and greens. Pace of play was perfect but then again it was a Wednesday.
The course is not long but the holes are very diverse and can be quite challenging if you don't place your ball in the right spots. For me that makes it more of a "strategic placement" type of course to play and my golf partner and I enjoyed the planning of shots as much as the execution. It was a fun day and we would definitely play this course again.
this course may not be long but definitely makes u think. Love the setup of the course, will definitely play again. Pace of play was a bit slow, but please don’t hold that against the course. The two groups in front of us were really bad.
Great course conditions, great location, great staff!
Really impressed with everything about this course. From staff to course conditions to surprising picturesque holes in a central/city location. And the food was great too!
First time play. Great course , friendly staff gave us a brief introduction at first tee, along with recommendation which helps. Good to know free replay in a day with $95 regular rate.
Great option close to the city
Played from the back tees (~6000 yards) and was paired with a regular patron of RHGC who showed us the way. Somewhat difficult to navigate the course - extremely hot so the ball was flying a long way - made club selection difficult for approach shots.
Pros: scenery was parkland and also reminded me of canadian shield / Muskoka Bay club in some parts. Nice on-course washrooms and beverage cart was coming around frequently providing free bottles of water. nice green complexes and unique layout. Marshall helped us move 1 slow group ahead of us.
Cons: lots of un-repaired ball marks on greens. a few tee shots that are so narrow that if you do not hit a perfectly straight (10-20 yard wide landing zone) show your ball is gone or in another fairway. The 11th tee shot is the most intimidating tee shot I have ever seen - which was cool to see.
Would play here again on a quieter, cooler day. probably would take a cart next time. Course is walkable but in the high heat I recommend a cart.
Last time playing here
I’ve played here dozens of times but won’t again, based on my last round.
$125: terrible value.
5 hours, 20 minutes: terrible pace of play.
We were booked for 1:03. At 12:30 we noticed that no one had teed off for 15 minutes and there was a group of mostly older women in.m a tournament congregating by the golf carts. We asked the starter twice if we could tee off early to get ahead of the tournament. Both times he said no dismissively. He even had the nerve to complain that the women weren’t all ready to go and were late for their tee off times.
We ended up teeing off at 1:10, delayed by the tournament. We waited on every hole and finally finished at 6:30.
The only great thing about this course is the location. There are a million other great courses in the GTA that are far less expensive with starters who know how to actually manage the course.
I realize this might sound overly whiny but it left a really bad taste in our mouths.
A beautiful golf course worth playing
The course is not too long, about 6,000 yards, but plenty of dog legs n narrow fairways that demand a higher accuracy. The condition is very good and is pretty scenic. A bottle of cold water was supplied to each player and the staff is very friendly. There is room for improvement on the bunkers, however, as plenty of them are not up to standard.
Got a hot deal on golf now!
So I played in the rain all by
I was able to take mulligans when off
Retake flubbed pitch shots and re put the near miss
Great practice round on a great soft and wet course. Amazing practice
The first 2 holes are ridiculous short 90 degree dogleg lefts making a square. They lost some land due to the 407 so it plays quite short. Never saw the marshall. Slow pace of play. Waited every shot. Didn't buy anything from the cart girl when she came by on the 3rd hole. Never saw her again until 16. Other than it is close to the city it is over priced.
Convenient Golf Course
RHGC has been one of my favorite golf courses simply because of its proximity. In 5-10 mins. I'm at the course. And because of its proximity, rates are overvalued. They know that it's the only golf course in the area that will be worth your round after playing. I wish they give discounts to Richmond Hill residents so that they will always be fully occupied.
