Short and very challenging
Course is in excellent condition. Because this course is relatively short, even from the blue tees, it makes up for it be being well treed with lots of mounds and rough which means if you miss the fairway or green, you will have a shot but it will test your abilities. A pleasure to play.
I booked it on golf now they should have told us there is a men's league we started at 5 and we only played up to 13 holes. Theg wouldn't credit me the rest.
Best value golf
Exceptional service from start to finish
The greens awesome
The fairways awesome
Bunkers beware there everywhere!
Challenging and well thought out course in the city
Can't beat this course for the location
Nice course close to Toronto
I've played Richmond Hill at least once a year, it is reasonably close to my house without having to go further north , west or east. It is well maintained and there are a number of challenging holes and some tight fairways among the back nine that are located in the valley portion of the layout. It is a walkable course. There are good warm-up facilities - Driving Range and Putting Green. (but no Chipping practice area) and the clubhouse has modern décor with friendly staff. I'll be back !
Thanks for the great review, we look forward to seeing you out again soon!
Poor management decision
Our church group held our annual golf tournament her yesterday. The on-course staff were great, carts were loaded up and ready to go. The day started out well then severe thunderstorms rolled into the area. All golfers were asked to return to the clubhouse for safety reasons … which was the right thing to do. At that point, only 5 holes were played. After almost 2hrs of downpour, pro-shop staff informed us that they would be issuing rainchecks to all golfers … they were just waiting for management approval. That’s when things started going downhill. Management had directed staff to only refund 75% of what each golfer had paid … not 100% or a raincheck for a future round. Throughout my many years of golfing, I’ve been called of the course due to weather and in all cases rainchecks were issued for a future round OR full value of whatever voucher used if less than 8 holes were played. Keeping in mind that this was a tournament and each golfer had paid a discounted rate, we certainly would understand if they couldn’t offer a raincheck for a future round at regular rate. Refunding 100% paid less the tournament setup fee would have been appropriate. The decision to refund 75% was simply poor customer service.
If anyone from their management team reads my review, I would encourage them to reconsider their decision.
Thank you for your comments, it certainly was unfortunate that the weather caused a disruption of play on Saturday.
Our rain check policy states that if less than 6 holes have been completed then a full rain check will be issued for both the value of the green fee and power cart. If between 6 and 13 holes have been completed then a 50% rain check will be issued. We had 2 groups on Saturday and between the 2 it was determined that golfers had completed anywhere from 5 to 7 holes (a few of the earlier groups actually completed 8 holes). As it would not be possible to fully determine which groups played more or less holes (nor did we want to penalize those that played more), it was decided to offer all golfers a 75% rain check. As a result, effectively the value taken for the golf played was $20, with remainder being issued as a rain check. It was also offered that this rain check could be extended through to the end of the 2018 season if required (typically expires end of the current season).
We believed this to be a fair resolution given the circumstances.
Tight course, fairly short. Overpriced IMO but can't beat the location and the conditions are consistently good. Although short requires target golf. Nice place overall will continue to come back
Late Fall Golf
Richmond Hill is one of the few remaining courses open in the Greater Toronto Area. There were about 10 cars in the lot. A few hardened golfers in the proshop waiting to pay for their tee-time. No starter, no marshalls...just golf. Perfect. Walking rates only. The course is not long but the last hole is a steady climb all the way out of the valley. Good walk NOT SPOILED.
There are number of tree-lined holes and water hazards that come into play. Some very tricky and narrow landing spots off the tee and second shots.
I'm aware that it's late in the season and the bunkers are in questionable condition but no on-course washroom facilities was a challenge. Otherwise, the fairways and greens were in very good condition.
The weather was perfect...sun, no wind, mild...incredible. Great day.
Nice round, good course.
Without the deals from Golf Now, Richmond Hill seems a bit overpriced. But no big deal, the course is always in great shape - even in November. Only complaint was that while waiting out a frost delay, I learned that our twosome was the second group of the day - behind a foursome that included a couple of novices. No Marshall on the course, and the group had no intention of waving us through. So we skipped a hole and golfed on. We were probably at home by the time the plodders finished 18.
But still - I heartily recommend this course. A challenge, but not too challenging.
it was a raining day, so the course was empty, I had a lot time ,; friendly staff. I will go back
great valley course
This course has some beautiful holes and is very scenic. Fairways and greens were impeccable.
Wonderful course. Love it.
This course is accessible.
I usually don't play this course because I find the rates ridiculousy over rated. Good thing I was able to get a hot deal from Golf Now. Thank you
Super course in excellent condition. It's a bit short at about 6000 yards but very challenging with water, rough, trees and doglegs making accuracy very important. It's always in great condition and the friendly staff really do make your day better.
Play golf... Skip dinner
On a business trip and wanted something fun to do. Looked online at GolfNow and booked a time. Pro Shop had everything I needed. Got out on the course in record time and played until dark. Great value and surprisingly good golf course. Play from the back tees and hit thru the trees. Totally enjoyed the layout, but it does favor the right to left player. No bad lies considering the carts don't have sand bottles to fill in divots. We'll worth the chance to play. Just get out there!
