It's December in Ontario
Hello it's December 5.
Had the opportunity to play on Saturday we were paired up with a wonderful twosome, the starter was jovial and entertaining. There was a short fog delay in which the inside stuff and PGA pro were very friendly and informative. As well they couldn't do enough to please us, even quickly making us hot chocolate at the end of our first nine. The conditions were really pretty good for December and the fairways were leaf free. Know that this is a very challenging and entertaining course.
However the pace was a little slow but that's no fault of the course, it's the people in front who continually feel they should spend endless minutes looking for a ball in the rough. Sometimes you just got a let them go…… Overall it was a great experience to be golfing in Ontario in December.

Good memory on snowy day
I played my last game in 2015 season at this course. On a cold day, the staff greeted me with complimentary coffee. The course was pretty nice and the green was fairly good as well considering the weather and time of season. I am planning to play again next year when the weather is better.
On a snowy day, you at least deserve a free coffee! Hats off to a very persistent customer!

Even though I don't live all that far away, this was my first time here and I found the course extremely interesting and plenty challenging enough.
I am sure in mid summer it will be terrific!!!

Winter Golf !!!
Great day, the course was in great shape, the greens were slow but challenging and the staff did an awesome job of keeping the leaves off the fairway.
Hey Doolally! This week has been anything but winter! With all the trees out here, the leaf blowing is pretty much a full time commitment, but we'll keep after them as long as there's decent weather for golf. Thanks for coming out and making this late fall a memorable one
The Starter is rude and obnoxious
I played Pheasant Run again yesterday. Its a course I have played many times over the years. This year, I have played it about half a dozen times. The course has always been in great shape and the staff always friendly and encouraging. ......except for yesterday:
Our tee time was 9.40. Right on time, as my playing partners and I were beginning to head to the starter's hut, the starter proceeded to obnoxiously shout at the top of his voice that we were late and risking getting kicked off the course. Not one to accept being treated like a school child, I proceeded to give him a piece of my mind. We got into a verbal joust that was really not good. As it turned out, the group ahead of us were still on the tee as play was backed up.
To the General Manager of Pheasant Run: I have always enjoyed playing your facility as it is one of my favorite courses in the GTA. That being said, I expect staff (everywhere in the service industry) to always be polite and respectful, as I expect to be to others. I do not know the name of the starter in question, I expect you know who he is if you document a staff schedule. Please speak to this individual and remind him that he works at a premier golf facility. As such he needs to speak to and treat his clients with respect and in a reasonable tone. At this point, I am seriously considering spending my money at other facilities, of which there are many in the GTA. Please contact me to advise why I should consider returning to Peasant Run in the future. My tee time was for 3 golfers at 9:40 AM on Nov 8.

Self entitled, inconsiderate, locals who thought they owned the course we're 2 holes behind the group in front of them after 9.

I'm sorry Robert that other players were not watching the pace of play throughout their golf game. We've paid lots of attention to greens conditions this year and I'm sure they are better than they've ever been. I'm quite proud of how they've played this year.
Always a pleasure at Pheasant Run!
Although we encountered a 1 hour frost delay in the end it was still an all round great day out on the links! The course is a beautiful as ever and made for a thoroughly enjoyable round. The fall rates make it a good value whereas the standard prices are somewhat on the high side - considering the location. We always try to make it out there at least once a season and we were not disappointed.

The frost can become an issue this time of year, especially way up here on the moraine, but I'm pleased your experience was still a good one.
Great value
Booked my tee time with Golfnow hot deal and received an amazing value for 18 holes with cart. The course is very well maintained and fun to play with both challenging and reachable par 3 and 4s. The layout also makes one play smarter than bombing down the narrow fairways. Loved it. Will play again.

Good mix of holes/visually appealing
I played the Highlands/Midlands--- a good mix of holes - some fairly open and some very tight (eg 1rst hole Highlands and 9th hole Midlands!)... good conditions overall but for the sand-traps... they need way more sand in them AND RAKING! If this course had fluffy, white 'Ohio sand' in the traps, and they were 'properly' raked, I would rate it as a high-end "premium-course"!...
Thanks for the solid rating. Your comments about bunkers really hit home.
We've taken the approach that bunkers are 'hazards' and as such don't require perfect uniformity.
Green side bunkers get maintenance priority over fairway bunkers, but overall, bunkers have fallen from near the top of our maintenance program.
If only we could convince all players to use the rakes provided to cover their tracks, we'd have much less issue with the condition of traps.
Nice change for putting Blue and white tee together
Blue tee is normally not for regular golfer, some golfers R over estimated their ability to play from blue tee and stuck the whole line ! Nice to change for putting blue tee to white tee's spot , that everyone can enjoy the course thankfully ! Good job !

Nice place, never play greens like this,various shapes and with slopes. Usually I play lesser courses with big pancake greens. The starter is a total PRO knows his job well.
