Tough Course Close To Home
I haven't played this course in years. It's the 3rd oldest in Canada and only a mile from my home. Now being offered on GolfNow we thought we would give it a try again. It is very hilly with tight or blind greens when you tee off so you don't get a lot of straight shot stances. For me it was still challenging after all these years. They have also added a water hazard on the 6th hole since the new condos are being built near some of the holes. All in all a fun day on a very well groomed course.
Well designed for it's size.
As first time players, we found the course had lots of hills and valleys. All the fairways were in great shape and the greens were a challenge. Only drawback would be the tee blocks and greens are a little too close together and in one case, two tee blocks cross each other. It would be nice to see if they can lengthen a couple of holes to make it a par 70 or 72. Had a good time.
Older couse wll kept in the town it self
Had a great day and has ineresting layout. The terrain is hilly and acart for older guys like me is a must. two hidden holes so theres a bell and a mirror.
Course is in great shape and beautiful scenery!
Really enjoyed my round. Nice test of golf on a shorter yet challenging course.
Well maintained
Course is in good condition. People are very friendly.
Neat Course
Tricky course with several elevation changes. Played as a twosome and caught up to two groups of 5. Never encountered that on a course twice in 1 day. No issues as both groups let us play through. Picked up the deal for $11 for 18 holes with cart. At that price, I couldn't afford to stay home!!!
Really good nine hole course
It is a nice course which in it's day was very exclusive and private. Take advantage of it now especially on Golf Now because it is open to the public. It is always in good shape.
No even lies
Way too hilly. Too many blind tee shots. Wouldn't be too bad if you played there often, as you would know where to hit the ball. Only 2 fairways have even lies. Nothing worse than hitting the fairway and having the ball 6 inches below your feet etc... Historic course may be worth a round just for that sake, but I won't be back... Very slow as well...
Awesome Patio
If you like an historic type golf setting with a feel of centuries ago, this is an excellent 9 hole course for you to play on. There is rarely a flat lie and no hole would be considered easy to play. Once you play 9 you'll want to play another to see if you can better yourself. So play 18 and enjoy. The staff are very accommodating and the club house food and beverages are good value for the money. The outdoors patio was renovated a couple of years back and is excellent to kick back on. Enjoy as we did. The only issue was that the green on number 3 had some winter damage but should be up and running in a couple of weeks. They had a temporary 'chip' zone with an automatic 1 putt to complete that hole.
This course is very hilly
The greens are well maintained, just a bit slow. It's a pretty little course scattered with flower beds.
