Give it back to the cows!
Wet, very poor fairways, golf greens cannot be called greens. I am 83 and blessed to have played many golf courses over many years. Sandy Row Golf Course is by far the worst golf course I have ever played. The cows may refuse to graze on it!
Great value
Hole number 5 is just silly but good value. Fairways felt like a first cut of ruff and the greens felt like a fairway. A little more frequent grass cutting would be great. Other than that great experience and well worth the drive from Ottawa
Sandy Row Golf - Very Enjoyable
We golfed twice this week at Sandy Row, playing 18 holes both days. It's a 9 hole course you play twice with different tee-off placements on the front than the back. We're your average 8-12 times a year golfers and this course was perfect for us. We had an excellent time both days, the staff were great, the course was in good shape and the pace was good. We booked using GolfNow app on my IPad, and got fantastic deals on both days. Can't wait to go back!
Cart issue
We were to play 18 holes with friends. When we got to the course our friends had gotten the last cart as apparently most of the carts were loaned to the south mountain fair. Our friends gave up their cart to us as my husband can't walk the course. They had to walk the course, so we ended up playing only 9 holes There should be more organization than this when carts are booked. That was disappointing, and should not happen.
Good value
The course is well maintained and the staff is very amicable. We had no delays and had a speedy pace of play especially since the rate included a cart.
The scenery is beautiful in this part of the country.
The fairways were in great condition but the greens had some brown spots. Fortunately they did not impede my putts.
I would highly recommend this course to any intermediate golfer.
Sandy Row
Sandy Row is a moderately challenging, well kept 9-hole course. There had been heavy rainfall a couple of days ago so there was a fair bit of standing water on the course. Given the recent rainfall, the course was quite lush so the greens played quite slow. Most par 4 fairways are quite wide and forgiving put the par 3 and 5's can be challenging (particularly the s-curved 5th hole). My buddy and I loved the course so we will definitely be back. The restaurant is quite nice and reasonably priced.
Best Par 5 if you like a challenge
The greens are not good and crazy slow, but it's still early May and after this winter I think all greens are bad. It cost me $10 total with a cart. Two tiered green on par three with water in front and left and the double dog leg par 5 are the nicest holes on the course.. Hopefully the greens get better. Enjoy.
Low prices
Course is not in very good condition but it is to be expected for the price. Fair value overall.
needs attention
fairways were ok but the greens were shaggy & extremely slow. 2 or 3 greens had a fair amount of bald areas on them.
Your package only offered 9 holes
After talking with the attendant, she allowed us to upgrade our package to 18 holes which we really wanted. The extra cost was really reasonable and we really enjoyed our day. The course is a 9 hole course, the package never specified 9 or 18 holes ( 2 rounds). It turned out real good, but I'll be very careful when I see you offer a package on 9 hole course going forward.
This course has a nice layout.
This was my first visit to this course. With its separate hitting stations for each hole, this makes it an original way to replay the9-hole course. The layout is interesting offering unique designs on a few par 4's that I have not encountered anywhere else. Approaches to greens require accuracy and provides ample opportunity to test one's wedges. An enjoyable round in a quiet surrounding.
