10th Hole Photo submitted by jgolfd on 08/10/2016
Unfriedly staff ruined the fun
It is our first time to play in this course. Just to be clear, four of us are all new golf players in our second year in playing golf. So we were slower than some others. However, we encounted difficulties with the staff every step along the way.
At the starting point, the staff rushed us and told me to aim at the right direction. The course marsal tailed our group from Hole 2, then approached me on Hole 3 and asked me if I speak English. He ordered as to skip Hole 6, even though we offered to let the groups behind us to over take us. He sent one of his people to follow us, to make sure we did. The other staff took that example, and came along every the other whole to tell us to keep up the pace, even when we were waiting for the group in front of us.
It was not a bad course, maintenance is OK, the wheather is beautiful. But the very unfriendly staff ruined the fun for us. Not recommended for any one wants causual game for fun.
Very wet golf course
The course was in great shape, unfortunately it was incredibly wet from days of rain making conditions tough to play. They should not be open for golf yet.
David Chen
as forested on the ground ; wait one hour to check in and delay 80 min. to tee off.
as we prepaid the green fee; but all we are senior citizens can not enjoy the senior rates.
golf now should have the senior option.
no power cart avaliable is hard for us; Glfnow should be inform us advance
Extremely impolite/rude marshal
First time at this Royal Stouville course yesterday.
3 of us and was joined by one person when we were about to start.
2 golfers were ahead and 2 behind. The pace was reasonably well as the 2 behind were never stood and waited.
This Marshall came to us on 14 and mentioned someone was complaining our pace. When asked who, he did not answer. Then on 15, I was about to hit on the fairway, out of nowhere, the same Marshall shouted out loud and interrupted my shot. I was furious, and I asked him “do you know the manner ? Why do you have to shout while I am playing?” I asked him for his name which he refused. Then said he is a volunteer and does not get pay. Absolutely unacceptable. No way I will go back.
Always a pleasure
Been on this course many times over the last 15 years, for tournaments and recreational play and it never disappoints. Some greens coming to the end of season show signs of wear as to be expected but overall they work really hard to maintain this course.
Staff
From the club house staff to the starter, need a serious attitude adjustment. Golf course is in great condition. Pace of play was great.
Value for money
Better than many public courses. Great layout and good maintenance overall. Just that some people didn’t play at a normal pace. Only thing to improve is the golf cart. They are very noise. Hopefully the club can balance the cost of maintaining the golf cart and golf fee. I would recommend this course.
The course is is well maintained and it suits a lot of levels of golfers.
I’m sorry this ruined your day, but this can be the toughest thing for newer golfers to understand. On a crowded course, letting someone play through can only exacerbate the problem for those behind them. As you notice, pace of play is one of the things rated on this site, and I, as many others look to this before booking a round, so it does behave the course to make sure you keep pace with the others. There are plenty of really nice easier courses for you to learn on. Executive courses are made for this. Remember your golf etiquette, it’s as important as the game itself.
pace is very important
Slow pace is one of the biggest problems of this game and the intention of the marshall is right. But if they used bad language or presented a wrong attitude, it was their fault. If this wasn”t the case, then they were right. As players though (at all levels), always important to be aware of pace. If you are doing this, then nothing to worry about.
