10th Hole Photo submitted by jgolfd on 08/10/2016
The course as a lot of challenging holes.
The course was in great shape and the green were quick.
Avoid after rain
Course was fun but the bunkers were filled with water and some fairways had some bad drainage issues after a rain storm the night earlier.
Good walking course
Conditions are favourable, and the course was in good shape. Played the Blue tee boxes. On 2 occasions, the blue tee boxrs were soooooo far back (farther than normally) that we needed to play white. Overall a fun outing.
Value for Money
This is one of the many courses in the Stouffville and Pickering area. Just like other public courses, the tee boxes and fairways are over-used, leaving many divots behind. Having said that they are still well maintained. The greens are okay. Given its reasonable price, it is a good course for a morning or afternoon workout.
One thing that needs improvement is the pace of play. Marshalls should show up more oftern.
Good value track
The good
Value is ok
Good track overall
Conditions ok for money
Pace was good!! Big plus in this price range.
The bad
Tee boxes are bad, unlevel
Sand isn't to fluffy, it's pretty heavy/hard
Greens on small side, but to be fair consistency was ok
Weird tee time rule
Booked 4:24pm tee time. At check-in, the staff told me it is a twilight tee time and must stop playing at 9pm, because the sunset tee time continues after 9pm. It’s a weird request and we couldn’t enjoy the last hole because it little passed 9pm.
Other than that, the course is nice and challenging.
Way way to slow
Said last year it was my last time do to slow pace, made a bad decision to try again. Left on the 14th hole as I had already hit the 4h30m mark.
Mosquitoes after 6 were brutal
The course is great but they need to do something about the mosquitoes which became unbearable after 6pm.
Good value
Good value for the price. Conditions were pretty good. Tee boxes were a little uneven in spots but other than that, decent course.
Good shape, Greens hard to judge
I think great patience and practice are needed to putt it well. The greens are gentle, and fast yet have no flat surfaces. Fast like PGA or a billiard table but designed by someone on magic mushrooms ~~.
The fairways and adjacent ones are generous with nice views.
Great Value
Played a twilight fee round at 4pm and played in just over 4 hours. Greens were fast, firm and in very good shape.
Mosquitoes, Mosquitoes, Mosquitoes, and more Mosquitoes
I played it yesterday May 30, 2023 and almost all holes were unbearable to play with the mosquitoes! Golf is hard as it is, imagine being attacked by 1000's of mosquitoes while try to swing almost at every hole!
For me Royal Stouffville is known for it's mosquitoes on the 18th tee box throught out the years but yesterday was something that I have not ever experienced before. Almost every whole, me and all other golfers were attacked by Mosquitoes!. It was Unbearable! Something needs to be done.
