First round of the year
Considering the weather challenges the local courses have faced at the start of the season, the Grange course was in pretty decent shape. Lots of final clean -up of fallen branches and brush was ongoing, but not in any way distracting. The greens and bunkers were in good shape considering. Great value for money at this time of year.
Aerated greens
Golfnow should post in their website information aerated the greens.
Very unorganized
My experience at this course yesterday was not pleasant. The pace of play was extremely slow and course management by the operator was non existent. At one point, there were 3 separate groups of 4 playing the same par 5 hole. We payed for 18 and left after 8 holes. The course was unwilling to offer us a rain check.
Great Layout
This is not too bad. The par3 on #4 is tricky, so as #12. Must manage the game well. Wish they have better amenities during the game. Beautiful willows throughout the course.
Annoying Marshall
Marshall was on us to move all holes for no reason. Group behind us didn’t even get close to us and short par 4s mean you can’t drive the ball when people are on the greens. Marshall ruined a great afternoon. For 3 holes we were all off our game because of the Marshall literally watching every shot.
Fast pace of play, firm course.
Highly trafficked course, very firm on fairways and greens. Tee off was 4:30 but starter did not arrive until 4:32 (on my phone) or 4:34 on the starters watch. He asked me to skip the first hole and join the other 4:30 players on hole 2. He was really nice about it. I complied. On hole 2 the two other people informed me their tee off time was 4:20. Lots of weeping willow shedding on the greens and in a few bunkers. Still got in 15 holes and sun down is 7:10pm. No complaints for the twighlight price. No amenities and the beer hut was not attended.
Nice round on a nice day
The course was in good condition and played fairly quickly
Great for anyone new to golf
The course layout is excellent for both seasoned veterans and low handicappers.....to beginners (who would play from the forward tees). The greens were a little slower than usual (not sure of they had been aerated recently). The pace of play was the only weak area.....the round took 5 hours to play on a very hot day (very few people walked the course since temps were over 30c)
Rolling Hills Grange
great course, challenging holes, well kept grounds we had a geeat game
Very enjoyable golf course
I liked the layout of the course - it is challenging.
My only critique - there was no beverage or snack cart in sight the entire 18 round on a fully booked course - at the same time it was a relief to see the massive ‘Cold Beer’ in the distance only to approach it to see it was closed. It was open by 12:30 and I enjoyed a cold beer and my son an iced tea. The woman was charming working the bar. I would just lower the beer sign when not open- we were not the only foursome that was disappointed. And again I would have a beverage cart - there is money to be made.
We did have water with us but it got warm. I don’t get out much but now that i have retired i will. I hate being critical but you did ask. We had a great time will be back.
Cheers
Pace of PPlay
Marshall should ensure pace is observe as other golfers take 2 - 3 shots in tee off knowly aware that there players behind them.
Play is so slow because of lack of ethics among other golfers. very dissappointing.
Hi bigmac7466.
Thanks for taking the time to review your experience with us.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your round and value you received. We hope to see you back once the conditions are back to our typical offering with our late start to the year.
Hope to see you, soon.
