Rip off
Paid over $90 for a twilight rate and the 'privilege' of playing this private course. Cannot stress how awful course conditions were. Most fairways were brown and hard, greens in terrible shape and waiting all day behind drunk, slow-playing members with teenagers nipping at our heels and driving into us. Would not play here again and dont recommend it to anyone else.
Nice Mix of Blind Tee-Offs
This is a nice course with a good mix of blind tee-offs, elevated a tee boxes and elevated greens. The tree lined fairways look tight but open up after the tee-off. Only one forced carry of around 200 yards. The greens are undulating and challenging. There is a good practice area with a driving range, putting/chipping green and a bunker. The view around the course is also nice, I'll be back to play during the fall when I'm sure the views are terrific.
NOT A PLACE OF HONOUR (Don't play here)
I played this course several times last year, great course and good staff. Golf is a game of honour, unfortunately the management at this course doesn't know the meaning of the word. I bought an underpar to play anytime, Mon,Tue,Thurs and weekend.Tried many times this season to book, first question, they all is are you underpar or a member. When you say underpar you get a 4pm tee time all the early times are gone. Tried and tried for an early tee time only to be told the Golf Pro does not want underpar member to get early tee time. Despite the terms of the agreement on the coupon purchased. When I pointed out the terms I was told I have to discuss it with the Pro. I LOST MY ROUND for two as it's now too late for me to play. If you didn't want to sell your rounds on underpar you shouldn't have not change the terms an peanalize the underpar purchaser. No honour,
I will tell my story to as many Golfer as I can and ask them to repeat it.
Can't wait to play it again...
Having read some negative reviews I was very pleasantly surprised at not only the condition of the course, the challenge and layout of the course, but also the helpful staff. I was given a key to a power cart on arriving and told to help myself to the free range balls, and warm up before teeing off. From start to finish it was a great day. I understand from talking to the staff that on start up, a few years back, they had problems with a number of greens-- not today. The greens were perfect, and I look forward to returning to Sleepy Hollow---5 stars
Augusta Greens
First time playing here; thanks Ryan for the hospitality.
Great job by the course maintenance crew; tee to green fantastic and the greens run true. Driving range included with the round a big plus.
And the golf carts are Yamahas:)
Back in a few days
Really a Sleepy course making you sleep
Pace is terribly slow and have to wait on every hole. Really making you feeling sleepy under this slow motion pace and easily lost one's momentum and rhythm. Probably will not play again in this course. No Marshall to control the pace.
Course condition is actually good and well maintained with beautiful scenery but all the fun was gone when sitting there waiting and waiting.
Somewhat disappointing
Haven’t played here in many (12) years. Not the same course that I remember. The fairways were In fairly good state. Many of the greens are being repaired. Obviously they suffered winter snow and spring rains damage. Greens were aerated and slow.
Snack bar was “ meh”!
Nice course and better than expected
First time playing this course and the impression is very positive. Greens and fairways condition are very good and some tee platform are decorated with flowers. The course is not long, around 6000-6100 yards but the hilly contour created some blind spots and players have to be well alerted. The scenery is quite beautiful as the hilly nature and tree lined fairways are very pleasant to the eyes. Most rough were cut down making balls easy to find and therefore helped to speed up play. Staff are very polite and friendly and beverage cart is always around which is good. Did requested the cart lady to help us take a photo as we are first time here and was impressed by her friendly smile.
Overall ia very good course and would recommend to others.
Stay away
Greens were beyond terrible, 2nd hole was closed, 10th hole had a temp green . Course looks rundown and neglected. I don’t know if it’s the greenskeepers fault or he has no money to spend. It’s too bad that this course is falling apart because I really like the layout.
Not worth the fee
At pro shop..I was told second hole was closed.
Which is fine.. never told about number 1oth hole no green.
Which was surprisingly from pro shop.
Play it again..no
Nice Track
Very good course and excellent value for the money. It still needs some time to dry out. The greens are getting into shape and should be great once that happens. Not long from the tips, but challenging to be sure. Nice to be able to book via Golfnow.
good course with bare green
I played at Sleepy Hollow last year and enjoyed the game very much. The course was nice and in good condition. Yesterday I was excited to go back again but was very disappointed. The fairways were still okay but all the greens were almost bare and brown. Although it has been very dry this summer, it shouldn't be so bad. Perhaps there are some other problems with their greens.
