a challenging course with difficult greens
check in was quick and I found staff to be very pleasant. The round was smooth with a good pace , no long waiting to play. Even had a marshal out there to keep us going. Greens are very challenging and loved the dog legs.
Nice Course, NIce Staff..... Too Slow!!
I've played Boundary several times, always found the course to be in good shape. Played yesterday afternoon, wound up behind two foursomes of young guys. First tee, they are hitting from the blues. Only two of them appeared to have ever played the game! The starter laughs and jokes with them and off they go.
By the third hole, they are playing as an "eightsome". The marshall drives by them on the 5th and says nothing! Nearly 3 hours later, we finished 9 and I was done.
Unfortunately, this is a typical experience for this course on the weekends. The only way to play boundary is to take the morning off work and go out super early during the week.
Pretty layout. Even though it's in the middle of a neighborhood, you barely notice the houses.
The greens overall are good, a little tricky in spots if you don't know the course well. Tee to green conditions were adequate to good.
What happened to greens
I sometimes like to go out to boundary oaks to get better weather than the bay. One reason I returned was the condition of the greens (smoothness and speed), but last time they were very soft and slow. Will probably come back again to give it another shot.
great course, quick greens and friendly staff
Played as a two-some, no rush. The course continues to be improved and enhanced with landscaping, flowers and shade covers on the driving range. Sure wish they had a practice area for the short game like they used to have but I completely understand that others abused it and it became a safety issue. I play here twice a month.
Greens were fast but in very good condition. Need to be on the right side of the hole or you will three putt many of them.
The fairways are tree lined in many cases but wide enough that you got to really miss hit to get in them. Greens are tough unless you are on the right side of the hole. Greens break more than what the eye tells. Walk around the whole green to get a better look at the breaks. Be careful where you park your car as my Lexus got hit either by a cart or another car. When I went into the Pro Shop to ask if they had a security camera I was told just a flat out no. Nothing more than that. The staff doesn't represent the course well.
Fairways were soggy despite very hot weather.
Greens were tricky. Could not read them. Fairways were soggy in places despite hot weather. On other days play was extremely slow here but midweek it was great.
Greens are in fantastic condition, fairways are spongy but not a problem. Good challenge overall.
Good price for a Sunday non-resident time. Pace of play was decent. Was able to escape the SF fog and find warmth and sun @ Boundary. Good variety of holes.
Good course, good play
The course was not busy when we played, and the rate of play was great! We played in less than 4.5 hours and no one was ever in front of us! Great golf course, too!
Great local course
The course was in very good shape, we played on Monday so the pace of play was great, 4 hrs. Some challenging long holes from the blue tees. A great Walnut Creek muni course.
Boundary review
We played with a guy and his wife. His wife rarely ever plays so she was just out there for company and to have fun. While we played the marshall would not leave us alone. Meanwhile there was a group of what looked like locals (foursome) who played at there own pace and held up the course. When your out there playing as a beginner the last thing you want is the pressure of the marshall watching you tee off at every hole. I didn't like how the marshall wouldn't let us play and enjoy ourselves but didn't address the group of locals in front of us.
A very friendly course!
As usual, booking on Golfnow.com made it easy. Ok practice area. We played the tips as my son is a 4.6 and I am a 12 capper. Very fiar course even from that tee. The fairways ran where required and the greens were very receptive and they rolled relatively true. Not fast at all. Thankfully it wasn't that busy there and we got around very quickly (ok so we hit two ballas a couple of times).
Greens were immaculate. Pace of place was great and course was in great shape. I will go back ASAP.
Great course for the $$$. Easy to get around. Loved the trueness of the greens.
.VERY NICE GOLF COURSE
VERY WELL MAINTAINED, well managed, long tees are long enough to challenge the better golfer; greens fast and smooth, relatively flat ' good for walking.
Great course for the money
Course was well maintained and challenging. Biggest problem continues to be tournaments and very slow play. Better to play during the week as weekends are too slow.

Great Course
Excellent Muni Course. Gets a bit crowded even in twilight hours! So factor that into your decision. Greens are in great shape, the turkey and deer gallery were in full attendance and the afternoon was nice and cool. All in all a fine day.
Also stick around for the sunsets, quite a fine view from atop the hill here. They need an apres-golf bar scene to complete the package.
Best shape of all local courses
Beautiful layout, well maintained. Super staff and practice areas.
Timing of this voucher
We purchased the voucher for 2:30 p.m. It was the first tee time after a lengthy tournament. I guess you get what you pay for. Pace of Play was over 5 hours.
Course is in great shape. Pins were set in tricky spots and set up for a junior tournament that day.
The round was a little long, but it was a holiday weekend on a beautiful day. So no surprises there. The supers kept the pace moving the best they could. Greens were in great shape and rolled true.
