One of the best course in the area
Love this course, but pace were VERY slow. Would be nice if player assistant gets to push the pace a little. To play SIX hour round take the fun out of any enjoyment and gives golf a bad name.
this course was a real suprise hidden jem
no one in our erea talks about this course was in great shape with super fast and good rolling greens. lots of mture trees framing every hole was a great challenge would play there again in a heart beat
Play too slow
Play was way to slow would suggest you explain how to keep up at hole 1 and what tees to use and utilize marshalls to speed up play
beautiful cours
The course is well kept it would play faster but groups became stacked up because of a slow group somewhere ahead of us
Tee areas are in real bad shape, fairways need attention.
Tee areas are uneven and full of dirt and holes, hard to get an level footing. Fairways are full of holes and don't know were the rough begins.
Boundary Oaks Golf Course is a great course that can suit every skill level.
From beginner to thinking you're a pro, it will test your game or help you learn at the right pace and challenge.
Great Shape
The new GM is doing a great job. The greens are Fast and True, fairways are firm, over all the course is in the best shape I have known. The surrounding areas are getting a redo also and the practice area has improved greatly. Hope this dosen't mean higher rates.
Let keep the greens in good shape "REPAIR YOUR DIVOTS"!
Beautiful location, very long day.
Park setting , fast greens. Very playable, long course from blue tees. Weekend pace of play is a 5 hr round minimum. Bring your putting game and a bunch of patience.
Needs work!
I hate to give this course a negative review, because it is a great course, beautifully designed, but poorly managed. Beginning with the staff at the pro shop, don't know his name but the guy behind the desk, smug and young with dark hair is just not friendly, you try to make conversation and be chipper because let's face it, we're golfing, not at work, here to relax, and this guy barely says a word, takes your money, and off you go...just not the gentleman you'd expect for this gentlemans game.
The greens are my greatest complaint at this course. I have played here off and on for the past two years. The greens are always in horrible condition. Ball marks rampant all around, spike marks, even a divot on one green! Where are the Marshall's? Where is etiquette? A suggestion I have is that the pro shop have available the low cost plastic ball mark repair tools to give out for free. I have seen this technique at other courses and it works nicely and more than pays for itself when the outcome means a smoother putting surface and satisfied guests!
The fairways are extremely hard, almost like concrete on some holes jarring your wrists when making a perfect swing.
My dissatisfaction is in the management of what could be a fantastic golf course. This course offers beautiful scenery and is in a great location, excellent driving range and practice greens/pitching/chipping areas. Owners and management should WAKE UP! I would love to return to this course and be proud to know such a fantastic course is located so close to home, but the course needs work! Take pride in ownership of this golf course and turn it into the fantastic course it should be!
Greens are aerated
Greens are aerated and very sandy.. They were very cordial and extremely
6 hour round on Sunday afternoon
As much as I like this course, I don't recommend it for weekend play. We had to skip a hole to bypass slow players. Two groups in front of us were 2 holes behind and the group in front of us were at least one hole behind on the 8 th hole. The two par 3s in the front nine were packed with at least 2 groups waiting to tee off. On the 13 th hole, we had to ask the group in front of us to either speed it up or let us through since one was receiving golfing lesson from another player while the rest of the group was halfway down the fairway. No marshall was evident after the 10 th hole. The starter made a big deal about keeping with the group in front and 15 minute holes but was not enforced.
Great Condition-Extremely slow pace of play
I live in Walnut Creek and have played this course several times. The course is a challenge, but very fair. Bunkers, fairways, greens were all in excellent condition. The only complaint, the same complaint I have every time I play here. The pace is SLOW!! Monday afternoon, non holiday, Five plus hours. More like near six hours. If you don't have all day, and I mean all day....... stay away from this place.
Had a golf now special for $24 per player with a cart. This was an extremely good price!
First Eagle, but annoying marshals
The layout of this curse is great. Plenty of opportunities to take out the driver, and several elevated tees. The fairways were a little parched, and the grass around the fringe was clumped. But, the Marshall's steal the joy of playing the course. The hover around groups, even though their are no pace of play issues. It's as if they are caught up in the PGA's concerns. If noone is waiting for the group ahead to hit, go away. But, as I got my first eagle following a 330 yd drive, it still was a great day.
PACE OF PLAY KILLS THIS COURSE
I've played this course many times over the years. I come back a couple of times a year, hoping that they've managed to speed up the pace of play. It just plays SLOW. I talked to the starter at the first tee about it, he says, 'four hours and fifteen minutes, no problem. You can finish before dark". Not! Had to skip two holes on the back. As with many courses, the marshalls just don't want to be confrontational. Sometimes they have to be.
The course was very good
Will return to this course. Players were not urged to let faster players play through.
Last week of January Greens were in great shape.
Greens in great shape. Fairways good a couple of dry/bare spots.
GREAT DAY OF GOLF
The course was beautiful. Though it wasn't very difficult to play, the layout made it challenging with it's turns and yardages on the hole. I will play here again.
Great select8on off tees for every game
No 2time holes alike. Great mix. Good winter conditions. Faster, not fast, greens for public play. Always enjoy playing here!
The course needs some attention but greens in good shape.
We went out around noon as a foursome, found some bare
spots and some areas in need of repair, but the green were
in good shape and fast.
Good views of the surrounding area, moved along well, we
finished in about 4 and a half hours.
Good Value for the money!
Course was in pretty good condition considering the winter months - greens can be very difficult!
