Great value
Can't beat widder, playable for all skill levels, because of wet spring not up to normal conditions, but getting close. As always great experience from the time you arrive until you leave. When I walked in the door the staff knew who I was and that it was a golf now reservation
Its like playing in your back yard
over all course lay out was nice, but the tee placards don't really show much, like where the green is. there is a driveable par 4 on the front nine if you aim 45 degrees right of the fairway about 230 or 240 yrds.
The fairway grass is about 1 inch long and not cut, but pushed over from the excess water, really wet. The tee box has 2 inch or better uncut grass with lots of dandelions. I will make another trip out in July or August to see if its any better.
Enjoyable
The course was in good condition, pace of play was very slow and we did not see any ranger on the course.
Good value for the money.
Nice shape and a friendly staff. Great place for a quick 18.
A fair test for the average golfer
Great value, interesting course, good condition.
I would highly recommend this course.
Greens are in great shape
A hidden gem 30 minutes west of the city. Lots of risk/reward.holes. Greens were quick and held approach shots. Great value
well cared for, good value
Did two rounds at Widder Station while camping at nearby Pinery Provincial Park. Nice country course, lovingly maintained. Fairly forgiving with a few wide open holes, but a few more challenging as well. Staff were great and the regular patrons friendly. Recommended!
Great course
Each hole had it's own challenges but the fairways were wide enough for high handicap players to enjoy it.
Well Maintained
Course is in great condition for the time of year and is generally wide open except for a few holes that require precise distances. Large greens. No. 15 is 100 feet deep. A driver is not always your first choice on holes 7,8 and 11. Finishing par 5 hole requires 3 well placed shots to give you an opportunity to make par.
Pretty course out in the country
I enjoy this course. Greens and fairways are nice. Always friendly and nice flowers along the way. Both challenging and forgiving. Good for all levels of players
great shape
For a round in the middle of September the course was in excellent condition. The course is challenging without being too difficult. Don't forget to order on the 9th tee to pick up a bite to eat on the 10th.
Course is well laid out..not tight but has some interesting challenging holes..front nine plays easier than back..
I enjoyed the golf course... under 10 handicap must play back tees ,..10=20 handicap from the white for a great day of golf ...they ahve a half way house and on course marshall to keep play moving..played under 4 hrs
Great value.
great value....greens had just been aerated yet rolled very well...We will return...
Nice lay out
We had a great time. The service was great . The grass on the rough was a bit too long made it tough to find balls and to play out of. The gravel cart paths could use attention lots of bumps and ruts. Other than that it was great and we will be returning soon.
very challenging course especially for women
we totally enjoyed our day golfing, especially, when the cost was half the normal price. The course was in really good shape and not busy, so we finished in four hours. They even let us go on a bit early, so that was really nice.
Not a bad farm course, definately better than Oakwood...
Played this course on Monday morning, here is a quick summary of the conditions:
Fairways: Average length, poor drainage as many areas were soaking wet, but good grass coverage.
Bunkers: Shallow and packed with mud-like beach sand. Large weeds and other grasses lining the edges.
Rough: Was too long and once a ball landed in you had to be almost on top of it to find it.
Greens: Not bad but needed to be rolled desperately as were too soft and slow. Massive divots were created from only 30 yards away.
Tee Blocks: Good shape and generally well kept.
There was one par 3 hole which had a giant tree between you and the hole...not sure what the purpose was as everyone was hitting it. Although if you could pull off a super draw you may be able to clear it...
Not bad, not great but it was close by to where we were staying and was cheap.
