Under Major Construction
Under major construction. No sand in most bunkers loose gravel instead. Sod patches on majority of back nine. Was not worth the money to play a free drop on most shots. Kitchen was also closed. Shouldn’t be 170 dollars to play a course under that much repair.
Under construction
The good news is demand exceeds supply in the Blue Mountains… but the construction (which will be awesome when done), makes the course very rough and price premium while under that state of construction.
Back nine was under construction with lots of bunker out of play and ground under repair.
Pace of play was slow with no marshalling to move things along.
Disappointed
The greens were incredibly slow.
The bunkers were missing sand.
Lots of construction. Overpriced for all the amount of construction taking place.
Because most Sand-bunkers were under repair, the rating is lower,, otherwise in great shape.
Under major repair, not worth the money at the moment.
The staff and views were amazing as always but the back 9 is under major repair. New sod and unfinished bunkers on almost every hole and heavy equipment on the course. I’m excited to see what it will look like when it’s finished, but it’s definitely not worth the money at the moment.
No compassion
The night before the round I had to take a family manner to the hospital, via ambulance due to a serious fall. I called that night to say we wouldn’t be able to make the 10:30am round the next day.
I called in the morning to reconfirm they received my message and to get a refund. I was told it’s corporate policy to only issue rain Cheques no refund. She reiterated repeated that is stated on the website and there are no exceptions. Normally this wouldn’t be bad but we don’t golf in the area so this is of little use to me.
So much for independent compassionate management and ownership. To me, this is unacceptable and opportunistic. .
Nice work boys. You won’t be seeing me again, but I’m sure you couldn’t care less.
I love this course
I love playing golf at Lora Bay but will be avoiding the back 9 (old front 9) for most of the summer. Some much needed changes and repairs to the course are being conducted which will be great for the future of the course. There is a bit of short term pain for some longer term gain. Still love the course and look forward to enjoying the improvements that are underway.
Is Better
Unfortunately, they started fall aeration two days prior to play and I was lead to believe narrow tines will be used, but actually full plugs, which made greens unpleasant. Some tee decks a little beat up.
Felt more should of been offered in way of discount based on conditions of greens, not just the "Fall rate".
Still a great layout and buitifull property with a good challenge.
Average at best. Course conditions poor. All holes very similar. One day later I cannot recall a single exciting hole other than downhill par 3.
Exceeded expectations!
What a course! My dad, brother and I were up north for an annual golf trip and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We were running slightly behind and they were able to push us up to accommodate. When we arrived they took our bags and set up the carts, knew me by name and were ready to rock. Course conditions were immaculate. Only slight complaint was the traps had large stones etc however I suck and was happy to pull my ball out of the traps anyways. I highly recommend!
