Great Value, Not so Great Fall Golf Conditions
The course was very beautiful don't get me wrong. The value was decent. There was no marshall I could have teed off whenever my group wanted. So we had to wait for almost every hole. Also, there were leaves everywhere making it really hard to spot ball even on greens and fairways. Guess to be somewhat expected for fall end of season golf, but could have been a bit better-taken care of.
Disaster
Although we booked for 18 holes, they only charged us for 9 and when we turn to play the back nine they told us that we cannot because we only paid for 9, we did mention that we paid what we were asked for and that our reservation was for 18 and offered to pay the surcharge which they wouldn't accept, at this point they blamed it on golfnow and asked us to leave the premises
Beautiful landscape
Beautiful landscape. Hard course.
Very nice place to be.
GET A CART!....BUT then the price doesn't match course
first off I paid for a "hot deal" for 18, which they were not going to honor at the course because they say it wasn't what they offered, so fix that GOLFNOW......i figured by the yardage, I could walk this course, but get the cart, the terrain is up and down hills on almost every hole, plus the layout is fairly ridiculous, especially on your furst round. Lots of holes where you have to walk one way, then walk back the other, with long walks between some of the holes......on 6, you tee off on the par 3, walk to the green, then have to walk the entire distance back, albeit not a huge walk, maybe 150yards, but just doesn't seem like the layout was well planned......but it's also in a valley, working with the terrain, so the architects may have not have a better option.....just annoying. So definitely get a cart.....i finished the first 2 holes and walked in the clubhouse out of breath and said I need that cart homeboy, he was very nice and pro rated the cost.....i have a torn meniscus in my knee, usually I'm ok, but up and down hills is not friendly to it......once you know the layout, you can leave your bag in places to avoid lugging it, but it was my first time. The course itself is pretty challenging.....on some of these valley par 3s, if you miss the green, it's almost a guaranteed boogey at best and some holes are very tight with forests on either side....i donated multiple balls to the tree gods on shots that weren't even that bad.....but offline is offline. the 3rd hole is under construction, so it's been cut down to half as long, and when I played, it had rained all night, so it was basically a swamp......overall, once you pay the fees, golf now's cut, tax and cart, you're looking at over $60 for 9.......at that price, it's not worth it in my opinion, which is too bad because it's close to the city.....like I said in my first sentence, they weren't going to honour the 18, but luckily I had screen shot the purchase which said 18, so they were ok with it.....but when I finished 9 I went to the 1st tee and there were 3 foursomes waiting to tee off....with a sore knee, soggy feet and lack of patience, I said forget it and just went home......git an eagle on 9....so guess I went out on a high note.......but honestly, at the price, if you're looking for golf in the north end of Toronto, just pay the extra $15 and play don valley or go east to Remington.
Worse than you think
i Haven't even finish my round and yet i am writing this review. this is not a golf course or at least i shouldn't be consider one... not because of the course layout but it is not treated as such by the staff.
i have played in courses with the pace of play slow but this is to much 20 plus min wait in each tee...
right now i am at 7 hole and i counted more than 12 people waiting to tee off.....
at front desk are more staff just sitting around and no staff on the course not starter... no marshall etc...
people play 2 balls people play from the blue tee and dont event hit the ball...
like a said this is a practice facility with holes...
dont even bother....
in other matters.... just because i have more time while i wait...
i reserved tje course with golf now. and the rate was $$$ for 18... holes..
the person at front desk would not allow me to play the 18 holes because of time.. 3: 20 pm. well i said dont worry i should be able to play 18 no problem... she said that no because if the course was full..
i said ok that should not be a problem if you have somebody behind the players to move them....
anyway... she insisted i said well no.problem i paid for 18 at $$$$ i can only pay for 9 she said no is the same rate.... WHAT ?????
same rate??? no way....
that can be ....
well she said that golf now is a third party......
that is just wrong....
i am formally complaining with golf now.....
BTW I havent been able to hit my shot at 7 hole....
Good Overall
The course is good !! the layout is gorgeous!! shame they don't have those extra shots for a par 70.
it was nice playing 18 on a 9 hole's course you know the shots you need to make on the back 9.
one suggestion is they should have different tee boxes to change the 18 holes experience.
Terrible course
Played this course a few years ago and decided to give it another try. Regret that decision. Course is in absolutely terrible condition. Final hole is literally a construction zone. In fact, several holes have construction zones in the middle of them.
Would not recommend this course to anyone ... not even beginners.
