Had a tee off time 4 pm showed up at 3:30 and the gates were locked. Call them 4 times and no one answered at all. Well sitting out front 4 cars came by to play but seen gates were locked. So played another coures. I would not tell any one to play here because this can happen to them too.
Great little course
It's the second time I've played and enjoyed it. As long as you know it's a par 62 and you don't mind playing par 3/4's I'd recommend it to any starter golfer and those who regular hit 90 ish. Just don't forget the bug spray.
Great value for the cost
Great course for beginner, to above average player. Shorter yardage with narrow fairways. Longest hole just under 300. Generally requires all clubs with a variety of distance.
Fun to play and easily played in 2 1/2 hrs as well as walking.
Great way to pass time.
I had some time to kill before picking up my daughter who attends Georgian College so I couldn't resist the bargain offered by golf Now. For $17 I got a chance to practice my short irons in a natural setting. All the greens are reachable from the T box except two. The greens had just been aerated so were not entirely true and, in any case undulating. The holes were often positioned on the crown making putting challenging. Although it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon there few delays but the course will attract novices and the fairways are close together so beware of flying missiles. It is easy to be critical but you can't for the price and it was an altogether pleasant experience.
First time here!!!
My son had recommended this course and he was right,
For our abilities in golf, we thought this course was fantastic!!
Well laid out, kept very well, friendly people, we will most definitely be back. The best part was the slopping greens. Thanks, Grant.
Have play this course multiple time and it is always in great shape and it is always enjoyable to play. Great place to work on your irons and putting and at this price how can you go wrong or complain?
Pretty little piece of golf paradise
Okay so it's not a fancy country club, it's not huge and doesn't have any par 5's or super wide fairways... But The Wilds provides a super fun, very affordable day of golf. It's conveniently located close to hotels and shopping but just out of the way enough to feel like you're 'one with nature'. Very quiet so all you hear are the ducks quacking and the birds singing. It was a pleasure to walk through the course and not have to rent a cart and still finish in 3 hours (I'm a beginner golfer who shoots average score of high 90's in 18 holes).
We were in Barrie for the weekend, and we loved the Wilds so much that we went two days in a row and plan to return every time we visit Barrie. Yes there are a lot of choices of courses in the area but we felt very comfortable with our pace of play here and didn't feel rushed nor were we waiting much. Great place to perfect your game before shelling out close to $100 to golf at the other courses, and I doubt those high prices courses would have such friendly staff.
This course is for and inclusiveness
My wife and I brought some friends who are very new to golf and had an absolutely great time. Short executive course that goes easy on the beginners and gave my irons and wedge play a good work out. I'd have preferred my wife not beat me, but I'm not sure the course was to blame.
Lots of laughs in a very secluded forest with no backyards- always nice.
Easy except for several "strategic" shots
I was expecting a cow pasture for the price and was pleasantly surprised that the greens were in great shape and very challenging. The tee off areas and fairways were what I expected for the low price of a "walking" round. Front nine very short, mostly par threes or reachable par fours. Back nine a little longer, with several par fours, short but much more challenging off the tee. I would play the course again but it is not for the serious golfer.
Fun course to take a beginner...stress free
Par 62 short course. Super friendly staff in very relaxed environment. Brought my gf who hadn't played before and we had a blast. Well maintained course with decent greens for the money. I enjoyed the par 3's and driveable par 4's and she benefited from the easy and straightforward layout.
We will definitely be back for many more relaxing Sunday afternoon rounds.
I played this course 10 years ago when my kids were learning golf and hand't been back. Wow...they have put a lot of money into the course and really cleaned it up. Great job!
This course was great! We got there and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The course wasn't too busy even though it was mid-Saturday. The back nine were actually so quiet we didn't see anyone for over an hour! It was a great course and we were able to take our time and play our best game and our scores reflected such. It's set in a beautiful location. Would definitely go there again next time we're in town!
This course is walkable and greens are in good condition.
This course is good for a practice round if you live nearby.
Fun course to play
Great people, nice conditions awesome place to take your kids, and anyone who wants to play a shorter round. Scenery is great. Always have a good time when I go.
This is a small course in an intimate setting. It's a good course for beginners to hone their skills and is well worth the price. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and not stuffy at all unlike some better known courses.
Good for start up golfers
Our friends are here from Belgium and the 4 of us went here as he does not golf very much so I wanted to take him where we would not hold anyone up. It is a flat course with some forgiveness to new golfers but also give a better golfer some challenges with their iron play. Great place as it is not just a par 3 course.
good beginner course
I brought my family here, 3 beginners, the staff was very friendly and we had a great day at the course, mainly par 3 with a few 4 mixed in. Greens were in good shape, saw some nice wildlife. A really good experience if you have beginners with you.
Fairways and Greens speed where like playing on a table
Unfortunately this course wasn't enjoyable to play due to the quality of the fairways and greens. No matter how good of a shot you made it was ruined due to the speed on a bounce or roll. The speed was way faster than any normal golf course or other exec 18s where the same shot you could predict the results. It made it very frustrating and too many lost balls due to it.
There was also a lot of maintenance going on that day while playing which didn't help.
There were no signs warning folks of the poison ivy that is everywhere. They should have signs as not everyone would be familiar with the plant and area.
Great deal queen
Great country course. Easy walk not hilly. Most holes 150 yards to. 250 yards. Had a nice leisurely game.
Very wild scenery and wild life
I like this course. Easy to walk and very good for the price
The course is great for a relatively quick 18.
I found it was a great course to use the irons particularily the short game
