very nice course
For a late season round the course was in excellent shape. It's a challenging course that is a little easier when played a second time. With the walking trail that wind through the second nine i would recommend a cart as there is some travel between holes. Its a must try.
Unique layout
Unique layout with lots of terrain and unusal holes. Would not recommend that you walk this course. Course was in great condition except bunkers where sand/dirt was pretty thin. Small tee boxes for the forward tees.
A unique course
A great day-the court was in great shape and the staff were awesome--as we had not played the course before, they provided us with a complimentary yardage/layout book--it was necessary as the back in particular was confusing-the starter was so helpful explaining the intricacies of the course. This is NOT a walking course with some o the holes far apart, and it's a long way to #1 and along way back to the clubhouse after #18--lots of hills as well! Some unique holes as well-very pretty also. Nice greens! Id certainly recommend it. Very nice facilities as well-get the cross cut fries!
Interesting and Scenic
Very hilly with some hidden holes. The course shares the cart paths with the Trans-Canada Trail so there is some lovely scenery. Has some very "unique" holes. Pace of play was good.
Great Value
Interesting course since the front and back nine are completely different. The back nine is only a few years old and requires more creative shot placement. More signage would be beneficial since there is a trail that goes through the course and can lead to some difficulty navigating the holes. For the money the course was a good experience. The only real issues were the slow group in front of us and the condition of the front nine greens. Would definitely go again.
The Bridges Review
The Bridges is one of the best courses for it's value and is a great course for intermediate or higher. Very beautiful course and fun too play with a small front nine par of 33 and a longer back nine par of 37.
Fun Course
Enjoyable course, greens were in good shape and the overall conditions were more than ok.
Great Day
Dropped into Tillsonburg while on vacation looking for a course that my wife and I could play together. Course was a bit shorter than usual, but played longer as there were a couple of very interesting holes that challenge even the most expert golfer due to unique layout and blind shots. Shot accuracy a must. The staff was very welcoming and even provided a booklet that explained hole by hole what you should be looking at for club selection/shots.
Disappointed
read all these amazing review about the bridges so I thought I'd try it out. The front nine was a disappointment but the back nine defiantly made up for. Beautiful scenery and great layout . Only problem was greens were in rough shape from what seemed to be disease. Would defiantly come try this course out on a later date
Farm Community
Great course rating . Family membership . Lessons . Very difficult Blind spots , elevated greens , water , carry , tight fairways and well maintained . Single digit golfers will be challenged . Enjoy the day !!!
worth the drive
We enjoyed this course immensely and will definitely go back. There are so many interesting holes and the scenery is spectacular. We will walk next time to enjoy the surroundings more, although it is quite far between some holes.
Very challenging back 9.
You really do need the cart, long transitions and numerous grade changes. Even with guidebook and GPS, the back nine is difficult and requires absolute precision in both distance and direction. Instructions for the simple GPS should be readily available on the cart!
Beautiful course
The course is very challenging for the length. It was in beautiful condition and the pace of play was just under 4 hours. The only downside of the round was the poor/no signage directing you to the next hole. It was very easy to get lost. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable round and I can't wait to play the course again.
Interesting course:excellent hospitality.
Pro Peter Hancock was welcoming and efficient. All the staff are friendly and obliging.Bridges is a unique, picturesque course, well worth the short drive to Tillsonburg.
Very well maintained course. Great experience
This is a beautiful course that is very well maintained. The starter's and other golfers were very pleasant and it seemed like we saw the beverage cart every few holes. We got food after the round as it was friday evening. While the food and beverages were very good, and priced well, I found that the place seemed understaffed (we had to grab the attention of a waitress after waiting for 20min.) and we had very long amounts of time between getting drinks, ordering, etc.. Overall, an excellent course that I would recommend to anyone.
This course was great.
This course was in great condition and well taken care of. It was a hidden gem for sure.
Great
This is a fun course and I will definitely be back. The new 9 is picturesque and very challenging but a lot of fun.
Worth the Drive
Booked this course on Golfnow and made the trip from London to play it for the first time.Although this course is very short, it's unique and interesting layout forces you to think about every shot. Strategy is more important than distance on most holes. Overall condition was quite good ,complimented by some great scenery and very friendly staff. Tough to play the first time as there are some blind greens and tricky fairways . Food was also excellent. This course was well worth the drive and I'm looking forward to playing it again soon.
A variety of holes
Everything was fine until we got half way around the back nine when the skys opened up and we got soaking wet. We didn't go in and asker for a partial rain check as we were in a hurry to get home and get dried out. Perhaps the golf course could see fit to issue us a partial rain check based on this review.
Everthing else was great!!!
Great Course
I spent a couple weeks vacation locally and played most of the courses in the area. This course is about a 40 min drive from london and is worth every extra penny you spend on gas to get there. This course has the potential to be a $100 a round course is the grounds were immaculate but even in its present state its still a treat to go play. When you get into the back nine its very scenic and quiet.
The only problem i see with this course is that there are many holes where u cannot see the green from the tee because of unrealistic and rapid level changes which leaves first time guests scratching their heads and thinking huh. There is a par 4 where you hit a 9 iron off the tee then a lw wedge approach up a 50 ft mountain. It sounds weird cause it is. But the good holes make up for the bad and it makes for a great day of golf.
There is also an excellent looking beverage cart lady who will greet you with a smile that will leave you happy even if your shooting bad. So theres another nod and im definitely playing again
