Very good course in good condition
We enjoy playing CP. There are some tough holes that make it quite interesting. It's a pretty course but some of the fairways are quite close together. Sometimes stray balls land on your fairway, so beware. Outside lounge is very nice.
First Time at Century Pines
Six of us booked two groups walking. The very inexpensive rate of $30something was an absolute bargain. The course is flat and easy to walk. The weather was perfect so that helped. The pace was very slow for the first six holes or so and it opened up. The marshalls were working and had smiles on their faces. There are some holes which seem to almost run into each other. It wasn't unusual to have golfers on neighbouring fairways. Given the drought this summer the course was in amazingly green condition. The greens rolled true. This is a very pleasant course. I will return for sure.
Demanded a refund
1. They would not honour "carts included" - saying that Golf Now had made the mistake. Everyone complained about this.
2. They were stacked! 35 minutes behind with 3 groups still playing the first hole. Yet they advertised many tee times on.Golf Now. The starter estimated the round would take between 5 1/2 and 6 hours.
3. The very low price they advertised attracted players who were not used to playing a course of this calibre.
4. I demanded and received a full refund before even teeing off on the first hole. I will never patronize this course again.
Okay for the price
Walking rate for $ 33 including tax was okay for a course like this.
Immaculate condition
Haven't played this course in 3 years. But it is worth every penny. The course is in perfect condition. There has been no rain in 3 months and the course is greener than most private courses in the area. Worth every penny. Kudos to the greens keeper!
We will let Stoyan know your feedback, thanks! He has been under lots of stress with the lack of rain!
Great value
With the lack of rain we have had since May most public courses are brown and cement like especially when you are off the fairway. Not so for Century Pines. Course was Green and with lush fairways. While the drive from Toronto was almost 2hrs due to a back up on the QWE, the staff was very accommodating on being extremely late for the tee off. A number of challenging holes both from distance and positioning made the day. Only complaint is no Marshall on the course and a slow Group in front making it difficult to keep a good rythum going in the round as I was waiting on most holes on the front 9. Back 9 the Group was gone so pace was better and the round was enjoyable again. I will definitely go back.
Thanks for the feedback. Will talk to the Proshop about the Marshalling.
great layout
Went off the back nine the coarse was in great shape. Hit my second shot on a short paragraph 4 on the green and I heard an applause looked around and there was the marshal with a smile on his face so I tipped my hat and one putted for birdie. Then I finished my round with a 75 from the blue tees. Fairways greens and tees were in great shape. Would recommend this coarse carry a 3.4 handi
Wow, great score! Thanks
Century pines
With the long drought we've had, I've played several courses in the Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton area and century pines is by far in the best shape of the courses I've played this year and for the twilight price it was great to play.
Perfect condition
After this summer drought most courses are dry but this course was in absolute mint condition. Great course for the money.
It has been a challenge this summer, thanks for noticing!
Great value
Course was in good condition. Greens were in good shape. Know your distances, it will help!
Thanks for the review
Good but some areas need improvement
The course fairways and greens were in slightly above average shape. The course layout is a bit on the short side but interesting as one has to consider using the right club for distance and placement on the shortish par 4's.
Improvements are needed in certain areas. The club seems to have gone away from having a starter or even a marshal on the course. While this was not a problem for our most recent Sunday round, it would be useful during busy times. Also, this is the 2nd occasion in the past month where the electric power cart was severely under-powered and only worked up to walking speed. Lastly, presumably to speed up weekend play, many of the white tees were moved up close to the reds. As a result, unless one had a range finder of some sort, the card yardages were irrelevant.
This is really good feedback! Thanks for being so specific, it helps. Much appreciated.
worth the drive!
Despite being a 35 minute drive and a dry month of June - the course was in excellent condition. Fairways and greens were well manicured and if there was any complaint - there was no marshall to move the foursome in front of us along - they dropped up to 2 holes behind the group in front of them so we waited on a number of shots. Having said that - we still finished the round in just over 4 hours.
Thanks for the rating!
Great condition, solid value for money
Course was in great shape, greens were rolling true. No complaints.
Had a great time. Have not played in years here.
There was a tournament before our round started so lots of bad golfers/non golfers playing. Holes are quite narrow so be cautious of swayed shots some without fore calls.
Pace of play was a tad bit slower than it could of been but it was because it was a stream of twosome with no group pairing together.
Overall though liked the course and would definitely consider playing again.
Enjoy playing this course
The course is in very good shape. A few tee boxes were under repair, but that will only improve our next rounds!
Thanks for the feedback! We will look into those tee decks.
good track
enjoyed the day but i was charged additional fee for cart. When you read the small print on golf now it says walking rate normally it shows under the rate....strange. good track but a bit expensive for where it is.
Great course for the money - but WAY too slow!!
Good course, pretty solid all round, narrow fairways and small greens - make for a good challenge all round. However, the course is overbooked - tee times are 7 minutes apart - craziness!...the result was a 3 hour front 9 and a 2.5 hour back 9...if it wasn't the 1st round of the year we would have been way more upset. If they can correct that then you have a winner!
What a great day for golf in November no less.
The weather was fantastic, especially for November so the course was busy which accounted for the slower pace of play. The course was in great shape. They did a good job of cleaning up the leaves from the fairways which is usually the biggest downfall in playing fall golf and made the round more enjoyable. It turned out to be a great day all around.
Course was in good shape for late in season
Tee off at 9:30am and completed the round at 12:30pm. 3 hours was good and I thank the threesome who let us play through. Course is usually in good condition with the greens running decent speed and well taken care of. The greenskeeper at Century Pines really cares about his craft. Had a beer after the round - prices are too high at this course for this late in the season. Reason I don't go back more often is the high cost of this course.
Not good, we don't have your contact info, could you email john@kaneffgolf.com with your experience.
