Perfect Location
I was looking for a place to golf close to home for a reasonable price. This course met my expectations and I will be back. I will add that its not perfect but how will it get there if we don't support it. Enjoy
Very Nice Layout
This course is a work in progress. It has wonderful potential and I am sure it will get there. The developer is building a couple hundred homes around the course so I see it as a local favourite within the next few years.
The ninth hole does not connect with the clubhouse which impacts sales of drinks and snacks. They may wish to rethink this issue. With all the rain the course is behind in readiness for the season. I will return.
Rough
The greens were very long. The fairways and first cut were long. There were alot of weeds on the course.
New ownership disappoints
To call this track a cow pasture would be an insult to our cows. There has been no discernible money spent on this course. It has digressed with no semblance of course maintenance. It is a dandelion haven on the fairways, primary rough, tee block.....EVERYWHERE. It is exasperating hunting for your ball on the fairway. According to the greens, shag rugs are back in style. They were virtually unputtable. Golfnow offered great price; however, you could not pay me to be here again!
A little rough
I have played this course for the last few years and it has always been in pretty good shape. It is now in rough shape as the fairways, tees and around greens are loaded with dandelions. There is also, the start of construction on some parts of the course for residential properties. I assume down the road the course will be back in decent shape, but right now, it's a little rough.
New England?
Was this course called "The links of New England " before and when did it reopen?
Beautiful Scenery
Everything was excellent. Best condition of any courses I played this year - and I've played Thundering Waters, Hunter's Point, Peninsula Lakes, Tyandaga, Southbrook, Brooklea, , Sparrow Lakes, Marlwood, and Shanty Bay.
This course is a work in process with potential.
Course layout is being changed due to the construction of new homes coming soon. Bunkers were rough and in some cases unplayable.
Par 5 on the back nine (12th?) is unreasonable for most players. Carry shot from the tee over ravine is too tough for the average golfer forcing a short iron layup if you have played the course before and are aware of the distance to carry ravine.
Greatly improved
The Links course is now under new management and the course conditions have been greatly improved. The fairways and greens are well kept with improvements to the course being made daily. The pro shop employees are extremely helpful and friendly and the electric golf carts are an added plus.
No Amenities whatsoever. No Bar,Food or Cart Girl
Disappointed and will never go back.
Great layout
Need to think of where you place the ball of the tee from the next shot. Great course
Fun course
Bunkers were being overhauled. Signage of tee boxes could use some tweaking. Enjoyed our day. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Good challenge, could be marked better but coming along
Pros:
Challenging - you will use many of your clubs if you play from the blue tees and you are an average to above average length hitter.
Distance - short drive from wasaga
Price - golfnow early bird deal for $39 seemed great for 18 with cart.
Cons:
Fairway yardage markers - not visible from tee blocks makes club selection difficult. Using stakes would likely improve pace and make the round more enjoyable.
Playing 9 not advisable - the turn is a long distance from the clubhouse, better to play 18.
Walkability - I wanted to walk but chose to drove the first time around and I'm glad I did. Distance between holes is fine for the most part but signage is needed between holes where there is a larger gap.
Not bad for just reopening
No access to club house between 9 and 10 or at any hole for that matter. All sand traps are under repair and greens are in not bad shape. No course layout anywhere
Great Layout.
Bunkers are presently out of play but are being rebuilt.
Fairways are excellent considering the extreme heat.Greens are slow but coming along.
This course could be really nice
The lay out for the course is really good accept for th second shot on 18 if you lay up. The greens are really receptive to shots and spin alot. Main issues are there are no pics or directions for the fairways or yardage markers and sandtraps are none existing. Played 2x this day and second time was awesome with the gained knowledge of where to hit shots.
A nice day of golf
The course was in really good shape for the weather we have been having. The only issue is lack of food and drinks. Otherwise a awesome golf course
Great layout but conditions need work.
Played 18 on a hot deal for $32. I understand the course has had management issues etc this past year but I personally feel they are charging too much for the current shape the course is in, specifically the bunkers which are unplayable and overgrown and cart paths are non existent and over grown as well.
The actual course is very pleasant with a great layout and holes that keep it challenging. The greens where is decent shape, pretty slow and bumpy, still recovering from winter it seems. Fairways and tee boxes are in good shape.
But the biggest downside is that the bunkers are overgrown and completely unplayable, land in a bunker you take a drop. For a course charging upwards of $32-60 bucks this is just unacceptable. Also get somebody out their to week whack the cart paths.
Great track but conditions are questionable at best.
Pleasant but not distinctive.
Enjoyed the course for the economical pricing and the friendly staff... was happy not to be restricted to cart paths as was the case at so many others. Problem: the scorecard and the signs at the tee boxes give conflicting info w.r.t. yardage which is very frustrating on short holes for first-time visitors. The last hole is awkward and a bit goofy as it zig-zags back towards the clubhouse. Conditions were good... I expect it is always windy there (links style course with lots of open terrain).
