Slow play
The course is in nice shape , they always seem to overbook. We had 4 foursomes on one hole and two to three on all others. I’m guessing that’s how they can keep the price down so be prepared.
Great Trek
This is a diamond in the rough…no pun intended. They keep this course in great shape. The front nine will definitely challenge you, however the back nine opens up nice and gives you a chance to Break 90.
Going down hill
We’ve been coming here for years, always enjoyed the golf but this time things were different. Took 3.5 hours for 9 holes and had 4 groups waiting to tee off throughout the entire day. Unacceptable.
Money hungry
This place is a dump First thing you see is a sign saying you will be thrown out if bring your own booze New ownership is lucky this is the only course in wasaga Ive been playing there for 40 years and i cringe when i play it now Very cold rude money hungry course owner and management as for the course number 8 should have a clown or a ferris wheel since its a joke of a hole Play is soo slow that you have to wait every shot or risk killing someone They have illegally cit so many beautiful trees it doesn’t have a cottage fell anymore Drive a bit and play a real course
Play
Good round but very slow with a group of 4 young men two groups ahead. They were playing from the Blues but should have been from at least white or red!
Great bang for the buck
Being local Marlwood offers me the convenience of not having to travel to far for a great golf experience that doesn’t break the bank. Staff is always friendly and provide an overall enjoyable morning or afternoon of entertainment. The course is in incredible shape which provides you beautiful views and picturesque backdrops. I will be continue to support this hidden gem
I didn’t get to play , the air quality was so bad that day in Wasaga beach, I had to cut my vacation short and head home .
Course review
It was a tough course, especially the uturn dog legs and if you’re slightly off on your shot you’re most likely in someone’s backyard or in the trees. The greens were kept nice and there are some beautiful holes. The pace of play could have been faster but I was enjoying the weather so it didn’t bother me to much.
Fun Course in Wasaga Beach
Very friendly reception. Track is short - 5600 from blues with generous wide fairways making it a course that isn't going to grind you down. Very flat, walkable, with short distances between greens and the next tee blocks. Scenic with views of the water. We came across a ground hog, snapping turtles, and geese and goslings along the way. Water does come into play but can be avoided with strategic shots. Bunkers, like most courses it seems these days, are lacking sand but wouldn't think that's a major flaw in most people's book. Massive practice green and a chipping area is available. There is an outdoor deck / patio. Clubhouse only offering pre-made sandwiches and drinks although there were signs advertising dine and play occasions.
