Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club
Retired senior, single player, I read reviews and look for late season deals and Twin Creeks with Golfnow proved a very rewarding experience. Fortunate to have played around the world so sampled many designs and standards Some fairways a touch bare and bunkers need a more defining layout, the 18th. hole here is truly a gem and one to study needing a very accurate first ball finishing with a tricky sloping green.. ..course meanders thru housing developments and with wooded areas and creeks would prove a long and interesting walk so cart recommended. Scorecard and yardage booklet a rare, thoughtful essential to make the most of this course.
Great time
Never felt rushed and each hole seems nice and quite and more private than others I have played
Great course... very hard 18th hole
Friendly staff. Thanks for the water bottle on the 18th hole... really hot day so it was really appreciated
The 18th is a Brilliant Beast!
Played "Twin Creek" for the first time. Although a little wet for the first 9 (lots of rain) at the turn it dried up nicely to make the back was very pleasant. The back 9 by the way, is a spectacular set up. The entire course presents challenges throughout but I don't think there is another beast like the 18th anywhere in the area. Greens in great shape dispute the long drought this season and the fairways played nice well. Well worth the drive & the price! As for the 18th....simply a beast of 519yrds over TWO gorges/valleys to an elevated 32yrd green. Leave your pride in the bag & play it smart to appreciate the design. Thanks for the free coffee & tea after the front nine to the owner...helped to warm us up from the rain and warm us to return very soon. Highly recommended!
Drive for show, putt for dough
This course has not changed in years.... Tees, fairways are in average condition, greens are fast and in great shape. The "no rain" has taken it's toll on this course. Golf Now gives this course value.
New Ownership, New Outlook
Substantial improvement all around. Thoroughly enjoyed the club's atmosphere and playing conditions were spectacular from the tips (6400yds). Great value for money, staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. Can't wait to see what the facilities will look like upon completion of renovations.
Green conditions were the worst I ever played on.
Evry green was pockmarked with dead grass. Fairways in reasonable shape. 17th & 18th holes rather unfair--especially par 5 18th. About 70 ft drop to landing area the middle of which was a large dense rough wirh a stream. Second short had another similar but larger rough about 180 yd farther--no real landing area to be had. Green was elevatee about 40 ft at the other end. Proved to be a real obstacle course. Oh, yes, the temp was about 38 deg C--very uncomfortable--no fault of the course. Staff & clubhouse quite pleasant.
Good Layout, Playable length but a little too pricey
Played here on a Thurs morning, bought a Golfnow coupon for $44 (was for walking), but adding a cart cost $18 more, total round costs over $62 , plus 2.25 charge from Golfnow, a little much for the quality of course overall. The layout of the course was ok, good mix of both short and longer holes. The greens are mostly elevated, 17 is really elevated and is a blind approach shot. Front nine plays easier than back nine. Back nine has several doglegs and some blind shots that require local knowledge for improved scoring. Greens would hold solid struck irons, green speed was good, not too slow or fast. Fairways were ok, some spotty and thin areas on some holes. Course not too long from back tees, just over 6000 yards, 3 of the par 4's were strong at over 400 plus. Overall enjoyed the course and scored ok, but felt like it should have been $20-25 cheaper in cost. Not sure a return to play will happen, there are better options in the same price range in the general area.
Inattentive Proshop staff and Rough Greens
I played this course on Canada Day after it was recommended to me. I arrived 30 min early so I could practice chipping and putting but trying to explain that to the staff at the reception desk was surprisingly difficult. They kept saying I couldn't tee off until it was my booked time, needless to say it was frustrating. The course had an interesting layout and could be excellent if the greens were better maintained. There was also a lot of walking and an excessive amount of background noise with people doing things in their yards to cause distractions. I will say that the back nine was especially beautiful with challenging holes but suffered drainage issues and clouds of mosquitos. I would play again but only if it was a hot deal.
The fairways are hard and the greens are not good to putt on
The course doesn't have much going for it, the layout is really bad you spend a ton of time walking back and forth, over one rd. and back over another, it doesn't make any since, it's in a subdivision and it was the noisiest golf course I ever played, kids screaming, lawn mowers going, heavy equipment making holes, no nature happening on this course, a big pass on this course.
Course is Challenging but with some drawbacks
We played for two people $50...so the deal was great with Golf Now! Value- I would not pay more than $40 pp to play here.
Course is challenging but they are building around it...so you have to be prepared for unfinished surroundings, some noise and dust on everything afterwards, but they keep the course in good shape. Bad things-no beverage cart and no signs for directions to next holes or yardage markers. Hopefully soon!
Good place to play if you can snag a deal!!
WAlk - Walk - Walk!
I mean between the hole and the next tee off. In some cases, we estimated 1/2 Km
