This was my second time to Cardinal Lakes Sparrow was hoping on playing the Herron unfortunately I was late in booking. Course was in great shape only complaint was carts were no longer provided because of time of year, very understandable but I’m not a fan of walking.
Course was wet due to recent rains but, was playable..
Good condition for this time of year. I like this course because It requires one to use every club in the bag. Even though it is short and par 67 it requires one to think.
Great short course!
Cardinal Lakes -Sparrow is an interesting short course 4900 yards from the Blue tees. Greens were just aerated due to end of season, but played as good as usual and are in good shape. Recommended and easy to get tee times.
Basically a nice course but if it's your first time there it is somewhat of a mystery trying to figure out where the next hole is.. Very poorly marked! Lots of water hazards. A couple of interesting holes but mostly straightforward. I think its not competitively priced as there are much better course for the same money or less!
Tough Greens for a Short Track
For a short course the greens were the biggest challenge. Hard to hold when flag mostly on an incline. Good tract to practice your irons for sure. Conditions went from rain to sun, overall a little chilly but great staff made up for it.. Cart paths were a disaster not being paved. Overall was a good day as we head into our No Golf season...
Course was in great shape
I enjoy this course but hate getting gouged on the price per person for the cart, it really puts me off coming to this course.
Cardinal lakes has two 18 hole courses the difference between the two is incredible, the sparrow which is the shorter of the two courses is quite inferior to the conditions over at the Herron course also the day I played the Herron course i pre-payed for tee time on GolfNow and proceeded to call the course and ask what the cost of the user of a power cart would be which I was informed that it would be 20 per person so we proceeded to golf course paid our 40 dollars and played. My question is why when I played the Sparrow course why the power cart fee now was 48.50 for two players , I feel that the green fee I pre-paid for as a hot deal through GolfNow was a manipulation tactic by the course because what fee they lost by giving a hot deal through GolfNow they made back by ripping me off with an overpriced power cart ....40 dollars for two people one day to use power cart ,too 48 dollars and 50 cents the next day for the same two people to use the a same power cart at the same establishment “Cardinal Lakes Golf” . MAKES NO SENCE WILL NOT RETURN!!!!
They booked way to many golfer
When you are waiting at every hole more then 10 minutes to play its not fun
Sunday Afternoon Stroll
Not enough driving carts to meet the demand.
Staff around are competent and courteous.
Too many hackers out on a Sunday afternoon so play was slow slow slow. 4.5 hours on a course that I had played on earlier in the summer in 3.0 hours (same # of people in our group - ie. 4 players). Did not see a Marshall on the course at any point during play.
Greens and fairways were good.
Will play again but not on a weekend.
Course was in good shape, pin placement was very tough, definitely tested tour putting.
All in all fun day
