BACKCOUNTRY JEWEL
Played on Saturday afternoon after a tournament was finishing on the course. I was pared up with Tim from Temecula and played 18 holes in less than 3 hours. This was my first time playing the course and shot a 82 and felt the course was in fair shape, my only concern was the green were on the slow side and I keep coming up short on my putt. My partner Tim shot a par round and said he has played the course a few times since they opened last October. My overall experience was good and I would recommend that if you want to take a beautiful backcountry drive and play a course that's not crowded give Warner Springs a tryout.
Great value and good play.
If you can keep it on the fairway and dont mind rough greens then it's worth a play. I started as a single an played 18 holes alone. No one in front or behind. Staff was helpful an pleasant. Carts are older and off the fairway is very rough. For me a high handicaper it was a good day scored a 91 and finished in less than 4 hours taking all the time I wanted to on each shot. My experience earned WSGC 4 stars.
Back Country Course
This golf course is not pristine . The challenge here is playing golf "old school" .Not perfect greens , where the rough is rough . Hit an errant shot and pay the price . Why I like this course is its scenery , the relaxed atmosphere and just golfing at a different course. Yes its probably a long drive from just about anywhere . If the course can generate more business then the conditions will improve I'd imagine. With the warmer weather coming it will probably be as good as its going to get real soon . Very friendly check in and there is a lounge that looks real nice , never tried it though .I hope this course can make a go of it and stick around for a long time .
Warner Spring G C
This course needs to be improved on a serious note. At some holes Its had to differentiate the Tee box, fairway and rough. Weeds growing in some tee boxes. Not being negative but that was my experience after inviting a couple of friends and ended up being a disappointment after driving for almost 2 hours.
Course was a lot better before it closed..
Needs a lot of work. Staff at desk great, but golf cart people are terrible..No help at all,no water to clean balls, can I help you etc..
Warner Springs
Great value. Course was definitely in need of improvements which appear to be ongoing and in process with the new ownership. Gophers are to an issue and make for a rough ride even in the fairways. Overall a fun course for the money. Hopefully they will keep up on the work they are doing. It should pay off as this is a great course layout in a beautiful setting.
Shame on you.
Leaves and gopher hole/mounds made the course almost unplayable. This course has been open since Nov 5th. To be in this shape is unexcussable
My last trip up the hill this winter. May retry next spring..
The course is in horrible shape
It's a cow pasture with gopher holes every where it's not worth it for free
Great views, nice course friendly staff!
Amazing views, nice fun course, staff very friendly and helpful.

First round
Really had a nice time. Staff in pro shop very nice, also restaurant was nice. Beer selection needs improvement. Cart path directions needed. I see a lot of positive things going on and look forward to playing again.
A golf course with real grass!
Pretty impressive progress made by the new owner PHG over the summer.
The new course layout is more challenging with new sand traps, redesigned holes.
There is real grass on the course and the green conditions have much improved
Plenty of new cement pathways make the course a lot more civilized.
The new fully remodeled golf grill with its new kitchen and menu is 'icing on the cake".
I will be back for sure.
Nice views...soft greens
Have played this twice in 2 weeks. It has nice views of the surrounding mountains. Greens are soft and the fairways are decent. The course is challenging with a lot of trees.
They are working on the cart paths and a the course does have some rough edges...but it did just reopen recently. Considering the drought, the course is in nice shape.
Nice clubhouse..overall a great course.
The course is in terrible shape and hire a new Superintendent
I have never played a course on a Saturday were 3 out of 18 greens were not mowed. Not one tee box or fairway had a blade of grass cut did they run out of gas? The tee boxes and "improvements" are a joke! This place used to be in pretty good shape. The land the course is set on is beautiful. But a management company and a course superintendent with a clue could make this place worth $40.00 they are charging. It's worth about $15.00 if it was mowed.
love the wide openlandscapes
we had an excellent outing the views are spectacular
great course
Really enjoyed the course, beautiful valley setting with trees and a nice breeze!!!
Sunday at warner springs
I was disappointed and the only improvement was the clubhouse. The course was in terrible condition. Bring water. None on the course. The greens are poor and fairways even worse. It's a 20 $ round.
This is a wonderful getaway. I plan to take a group of ladies in the fall.
We had a wonderful time playing the new/revamped golf course. The course was challenging but fun. Seeing the mama deer and 2 babies was cool plus wild turkeys and eagles. All the trees have gotten so big. I especially love the weeping willows. I had a delicious Cobb Salad with blue cheese...huge. The pro shop people were so nice and helpful. Can't wait to play again. It is so pleasant and peaceful here. Waiting for the resort to reopen so we can spend the night with a group of ladies.
warner springs ranch
Great to have this course back.after 2 years of being closed some changes like holes 3,4,16 are all for the better!nice rock walls and cart paths going in.still working on ponds and it will be a year before its perfect but still wild turkeys all around and hawks and animals ...it's awesome!!!
Good Layout
The course just opened after being closed for four years and this was my first time playing the course. The course conditions were fair and was what I expected after being closed for so long and for the drought we are in. I was very impressed with the layout of the course. Many of the holes are tree-lined and require an accurate tee shot. The course plays fair as do the greens. The course reminds me of playing back east, which is rare in SoCal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After some more time I have no doubt the course will mature a little and be in excellent condition.
