Improved
Played the course a few years back and it has improved since then. Still work to be done though. Built on solid clay, the ground was so hard it was tough to even get a tee into it. Greens were inconsistent, and the course was a lot hilly than it appears. Definite cart course next time.
But for $20, no waits, and fairly wide open, not a bad value.
Worst course in Ottawa/Gatineau
Worst course I've played in Ottawa/Gatineau this year! $30 is to much to pay for this course. Tee boxes are not leveled. The green's were absolutely awful!!!! Hole 14 I could of used a wedge to put my ball. Hole 12 was another one that I didn't even know it was the green! I mean if you are brand new to the game or a kid then maybe try this course out. Extremely disappointing after reading some other reviews I thought it would of been an ok course but it is awful. Worst greens I've seen by far in the last 3 year's. 2 good things about this course is the staff were nice and the carts are nice.

Has potential .Still needs work
Have played this course many times in the last few years and find it excellent value for the beginner and casual golfer. My wife and I take advantage of excellent prices and discounts offered through Golf Now.
Course has always suffered from shortage of maintenance and need for repair of some greens and bunkers, etc.Setbacks from 2 years of spring flooding have been slow to repair.. Notwithstanding these issues we still enjoy playing here especially considering the reasonsble cost. Staff is always helpful and provide excellent service considering the facilities that they have.. Hopefully more golfers will allow more resources to be put toward the repairs and maintenance that will make it more attractive . Give it a try! If you limit your expectations you can't go wrong for the price.
Awful
The course layout is terrible, the fairways and rough were the same length and the 12th and 15th hole had no greens, just a flag with a hula hoop around it
Hay?
Entire Course was yellow except for the pond (most green we saw all day). You can’t tell one hole from the next. One hole was a hoolahoop. Great if you want to practise hitting 300yards straight as not a single hole has any bends at all. Not to mention there was no beer cart in sight on a Sunday afternoon in 25 degree weather
Copperdale
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Course changes were a welcome sight. Good place to bring a beginner to learn the game. Great sale on golf equipment and clothing.
Overall it was a fun day.
Tough winter worse doing: course still not fully open
Played Copperdale earlier in the season and only 10 holes we’re open. A tough winter and spring flooding really took its toll on a course that has lacked in maintenance for a number of years. Large patches of fairway were still too wet to cut, casual water on a bunch of holes. Played yesterday and 17 holes were open, par three 13th still closed. Two holes had temp greens, (#12 & #15 ) and I think it’s doubtful the green on #12 will be playable at all this year. It’s been a discount course for a few years and the impact of the lack of funding is really starting to add up.
Great service at the clubhouse and friendly atmosphere are the key things that still make it a decent value. Definitely not a course for those looking for top level manicuring but a decent challenging tract for the average hacker like me.
This course is great if you want it relaxed. We are never pushed! It’s a tough and long course but I think it teaches you a lot.
Course Still needs a lot of work
This was our fourth round this year and conditions have improved only slightly from the first . The course was virtually deserted the day that we played.
Terrible spring flooding caused major damage to the course and restoration is extremely slow. One hole remains completely closed, Several others have temporary tee boxes and/or no green surfaces available to play. One creek crossing bridge is impassable.
It appears that management may have given up on restoring the course.for this year as we saw no groundskeeper activity anywhere on the course all day long. Conditions over the last few years have always been below average , but this year's flooding has set things back even further., Our earlier reviews of this course were "hopeful" that management efforts would lead to improvements . That doesn't appear to be happening.
Fortunately we paid nowhere near regular green free price and we did play every available hole.
Bottom line if you play here this year, your expectations should be very low , as should the fee that you pay.
Hopefully things will improve in the future,.... if there is a future for this golf course.
Cheap!!
Perfect for average golfers. No pushing. Very relaxed.
Will only get better
Have plaid this course over the last 20years, and is only ‘fair’. The area was hampered with flooding and tornado this year. Only 10 holes are playable and of those, 2 are temporary t-boxes and distances are not accurate.
Course needs to be put to rest
Only 10 holes open and all terrain is in terrible shape
Will not be back here
Good value, but course needs work after tough spring
Only 10 holes open due to winter/spring flood damage. Staff are trying hard to bring it back.
Still had a good day as remaing greens and fairways in decent condition.
Good value at the price we paid with cart.
Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Good coursefor beginners , senior golfers and others who just want to play an unpretentious course.
Very enjoyable day . Best wishes to staff doing what they can to upgrade the facility.
Shouldn’t be open right now
Booked through Golf Now. The course should have seen our reservation and called us with an update on the conditions. Long drive out there to find out 6 holes aren’t open and every open hole is absolutely soaking wet. Left after playing 2 holes. Pro Shop said only Golf Now could issue a refund which they pro rated causing us to lose about $35 on our foursome fees.
It is too early for this course to be open, and if they continue to allow play and power carts they are going to be very poor conditions all season.
Poor management!
Booked a tee time thru Golf Now. Drove 48 kilometers to be told by one of the workers that the opening date is May 25th. If they are partners with Golf Now, they should be in sync. Not a happy golfer to have to drive back 48 kilometers without having played. The worker called the manager but it did not seem to make any difference since the next day they were still advertising deals.
