Great for quick inexpensive round of golf
I played with my grandson. We had a blast! Course is perfect for low key unpretentious golfing fun.
Value for money -fair course but still a good play
This course has been around for a long time and it shows
Bunkers have no sand
But they have made good progress with the majority of their greens
Suggest an irrigation system for the fairways and maybe fog the marsh areas for those perky horse. Flies and mosquitoes
Otherwise I quite enjoyed it
In and out by myself in 2 1/2 hours
Rough shape
Temporary greens were a flag on the fairway with a hula hoop counting as the "hole"
Greens have fairway length grass and patches of dirt everywhere.
Horrible condition
It’s really unfortunate that this course was in such bad shape, they shouldn’t have opened. The back nine was unplayable completely underwater and we had to play the front nine twice, even at that it was wet. The greens were like a 1970’s shag carpet which is too bad because it has a nice layout and could be a decent course. Even with a GolfNow hot deal it was overpriced for the terrible conditions.
Looking wayyy better
This is one of the course that the Champions Nest investment group are trying to bring up again.
I must say, the fairways, were in good condition. Their greens have definitely improved from last year.
Its still not perfect, there are some greens that will require a lot more work, and some bunkers are still missing sand! but you can definitely notice the difference.
We played the white tees and it was a good experience, not too difficult to drive and have a short iron for your second shot.
Overall, great experience.
Good deal or the average hacker. Has potential to be better.
Have played this course several times this season due to the very reasonable cost and suitability for myself, a mid handicapper, and my golf partner/ wife , a beginner. Conditions are now (in mid-August) the best they have been following a very wet spring and early summer when conditions were very difficult.
Greens have some bald spots, and the sand bunkers are completely neglected and weed infested. At present this is not a course for the discriminating golfer, but for an average hacker it is a good deal offering a decent challenge. Very few golfers on course on the beautiful Monday that we played. With more customers, perhaps management would have the resources to improve course and clubhouse conditions. It wouldn't take much to bring this facility up to a much higher standard that would make it a better place to play.
Improved
Played the course a few years back and it has improved since then. Still work to be done though. Built on solid clay, the ground was so hard it was tough to even get a tee into it. Greens were inconsistent, and the course was a lot hilly than it appears. Definite cart course next time.
But for $20, no waits, and fairly wide open, not a bad value.
This Ian a great course for beginner golfers.
My wife and I are beginner golfers and this course was excellent in accommodating our needs. The staff were friendly and the members were very patient with our slow play. We would highly recommend this course to our friends and family.
Course and clubhouse under renovation
Played this course last year and found it to be gradually improving. It apppears that new ownership is doing their best to bring the facility back from a lengthy demìse.
layout is generally good and has potential to be a pretty good course . Conditions were decent considering the record wet spring.
With continued work this spring and summer this could be a very good golfing option close to the City. Irrigation will be very important if conditions are dry.Price is a bargain. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
We didn't Overpay
We have had record amounts of rain this spring and we understand if a course is not ready to open and this course should have remained closed. There were only 9 holes open, but not not a conventional 9 holes that you would come to expect; holes 1,6,7,8,9,10,11,17 and 18 were open for a par 39. That's not golf.
This course is improving.
It's been 5th time I played here, even some greens still need improvement, it is playable, affordable and some holes challenging.
Revamped and improved
Having last played here a few years back I was struck at the site of what appeared to be a brand new course to me. My last recall was that of a very dry, hard-packed terrain and rough turf interaction. Not anymore. The fairways were green and well cut allowing for a clean ball strike. The approaches to the greens were much improved as were the latter. The wide variety of sloping grounds favoured a good test of one's striking capacity. All in all a pleasant experience.
