Great day
The course was in very good condition considering that it has the reputation of being a wet course, it was wet in a few holes but it had rained a lot the day before therefore could not see if it was wet because of the rain or because of poor drainage. . Overall it was a great day. Being near the Gatineau Park we even saw a black bear near the womens tee-off on the16th hole...this was a little sacry but he or she stayed in the woods...
Great Value
Played from whites (shuld be playing seniors). Most holes are straight forward. Few difficult holes on the approach (16 and 18).
Fairways looked great despite the rains we had couple of day ago. Grens were well maintained, little bit slow for my taste.
Overall a great experience and a great value.
great course for an intermediate golfer
the course was wet from a week of rain and the day we golfed. some challenging par three's and greens in good shape. First time I bought through last minute golfer, price was unbeatable and will do it more often.
Easy to get to from Ottawa
Great afternoon at Kingsway
It was my first visit to Kingsway this year and was reluctant in booking fearing conditions would be as rough as last year and other years before. To my surprise, it was in pretty good shape. The fairways were playable with only a couple of times where I had to move my ball for a preferred lie. Greens look great for most but again I had to move my ball twice due to surface conditions. Only suggestion I have for the maintenance folks is to cut the greens just a little shorter. They were running pretty slow but not as slow as The Meadows' shaggy greens.
Friendly and scenic!
love to play it over and over again.
only down... no cushy depart at the red tee offs... it is quite difficult to plant a tee.
Will bring a hammer next time! that is how much I love playing there.
A Fun Experience
Very scenic surroundings, set against the backdrop of the Eardley Escarpment. The course is basically flat and plays more difficult on windy days.
Five or six holes have some water hazards but overall the course is not especially challenging.
A fun and enjoyable course located close to the cities of Ottawa and Gatineau.
Lots of fun
It was basically an empty course as it was a rainy overcast day.
Lots of little black flies but that's ottawa and weather.
Very picturesque with the mountains and cliff faces north of you.
Good Value
Cant beat this track for 10 bucks. Thank you for the great deal!!
Nice scenery
Overall good experience, just beware that they will try to charge you more then the advertised price on golf now! This is why they want you to pay at course instead of in advance online.
Good Day!
Played last Sunday with friends and had a great time will go back for sure
A Real Gem
A very enjoyable course for all levels of players. I would definitely like to play this course again when I visit Canada's Capital Region.
This course is set in the hills
Beautiful course. Scenery was great. Greens and course are in average condition due to harsh winter. Lots of ground under repair. Greens were just aerated which caused some missed putts.
Nice Course
The course is nice (still early in the season and the fairways were not great (Hopefully they get better later in the season) but at least the greens were in good conditions). Course can give a challenge to the intermediate golfer but it's also good for beginners.
Very nice golf course but booking times may be an issue
The course management does not seem to strictly enforce the booking of tee times and allowed non-bookers onto the course. Also, the Golfnow tee time of 11:44 showed up on their system as 12:24. All of this contributed to the fact that our threesome did not get to tee off until 13:20! Once started, the pace of play was good but we were justifiably upset about the long delay in getting started.
Great price w/ cart included
Love the course layout. Off-season was tough and course is not in good shape. Its still very early in the season and there's more than enough time to work on it
Les verts
Les verts portent encore les marques des perforations de l'an passé. C'est un peu normal en début de saison, j'ai confiance que la situation devrait s'améliorer avec le retour du beau temps.
Decent
Early season, was under $20.00 with cart so cant complain!
A little tricky to get to, but not a bad drive from downtown Ottawa
First time at the Kingsway
good times, good price 18 holes early season for $30.00
conditions were okay, some brown spots and had to drop the ball a few times in new locations. Not bad at all considering the long winter, but one of the first days out in a T shirt so it was good times!
Wide Open Fairways
Course is straight away, but with narrow approaches and smaller greens that require accuracy on approach shots to avoid greenside bunkers. Wind direction plays quite a role. Difficult Par 3's requiring accurate shots with right club selection. Greenside rough can be thick and difficult.
